Since we don't actually have any facts to base our assumptions on, what does everyone think is going on right now?

Are both teams having a stand off, or are Sydney busy trying to wheel and deal with other teams in order to get something better for Adelaide?
Pretty sure everyone, and this is all 18 clubs not just the Swans and the Crows, are waiting to see what compensation picks are awarded for the free agent moves before committing to any deal. I doubt we will see any more trades finalised before this happens on Friday.

I think GWS might be just throwing there hat in the ring to join trade. It doesnt automatically mean we are out, as I 'predicted' earlier it could still end up a three or four way trade.

Your predictions couldn't be any worse than FAITH's...that thing's all over the shop!

This is so funny, the Adelaide supporters have really reeled us in here. Based on the Crows fans' assesments; for basically nothing we are trying to steal one of their best players (or previously best), but they will see it as a win if they lose Tippett for nothing in the draft.

Its a great analogy as to how the stupid convince themselves they look smart.

Sydney would be trying to find something. Hoping it is Everitt or TDL or Jesse elsewhere for picks. But we would need to know Adelaide will trade if we do the deal.

There management would have worked out that they can't get GWS picks. Even if just about everyone on their board hasn't. Deal will still be done if Tippett stays firm. Adelaide won't wont zero.

I agree. That's the thing many of the mongoloids on the Adelaide board don't seem to understand. Sydney obviously aren't just dealing with Adelaide, we need to be trying to get something of value from other teams and make sure that both Adelaide and the other team are satisfied with any proposed trades before pulling the trigger. Add in to this, that any other team we're dealing with may also be doing something similar with other clubs and it makes what appears to be a straight forward trade on the outside, extremely complicated.

Instead they just assume that Sydney are playing hardball and offering White and 22. The reality is that both sides are probably still trying very hard to work something out and there's been no word from either club to suggest otherwise.

Ok Swans, time to pull back from negotiations and let GWS and Adelaide suss it out.
If you want him( and I am ambivalent) then you stay in.

We are still in the box seat whilst ever Tippett stays strong and say only Sydney. Whilst this happens they can't do a deal with GWS. All they can do is send him to the draft for no return.

We need to get amongst the trades and find another pick in the 20's. trade Jesse , Everitt TDL etc.

Then adelaide will have one question. Do we take two picks in the 20's or do we send him to the draft for nothing. This all relies on Tippett staying with a Sydney only scenario. If he decides to go elsewhere then the game changes.

Until then adelaide can talk to whoever they like, but they can only do a deal with us.

If it does indeed come to pass that Tippett goes into the PSD and the Crows get nothing then I think the view will be that we were prepared to lose this battle in order to win the war.

Although it may be part rationalisation I think the pattern of Gunston leaving last year and now Tippett this year shows that here is a need for the Crows need to act on the go-home player issue and a Tippett-to-PSD decision would be the way to signal it.

Whether it's the best outcome or not everyone will have their own views but it's not a strategy without any basis (i.e. stupid).

We've told Adelaide again that 22 is on the table, Tippett won't agree to a trade with GWS.
The ball is back in Adelaides court, 22 or PSD is the decision they need to make.

If its PSD we are confident of getting Tippett still, the belief is that GWS dont want heavily back ended contracts (like Tippett will specify)

It's interesting.

IF we back off for a few days GWS could say no deal, see you in PSD. Sydney are essentially giving adelaide in the GWS dealings so if we pull out the PSD threat comes up and we say pick 22 is still there. Probably won't happen but interest scenario

As we have all stated a million times WE DON'T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You personally don't. But with the offer you CLUB made they clearly do.

GWS want some hardened bodies. You can get a draft pick off them without a player moving states. They get a player and you get Tippett. It depends on how bad you talent and list manager wants him.
