Definitely a forward for mine - just doesn't have the foots skills or the decision making for defence.

Can take a contested mark which is his major asset, but from last year, I think he lacks the ability to find the footy and bring others into the game in the forward. A bit of one trick pony. The other issue was his inconsistent conversion.

His aerial ability is outstanding, which makes him a prospect, but he'd be behind Mark Williams in my best side at the moment.

Yes

Brutal but brilliantly disguised.

Remember it being a fair challenge, just went a little harder and hit him plum down the middle. We've been missing a lot of physicality at the contest, need it in the middle more than the forward line though.

Hardingham has been great so far in our NAB cup games, especially against Melbourne (his last qtr was fantastic).

Either playing forward or back he give's 100% and is a real livewire.

Not sure if he's a lock yet but he's nearly our best swingman and will be pretty important to us this year.

Random, but, he should be playing as a running goalkicking midfielder utility.

Watched him play defence at Bendigo and struggled at times, whilst his goalkicking up forward are there for all to see.

Think all his athletic attributes could see him become useful through the midfield.

Would love to see that tried out. :thumbsu:

I think that his disposal by foot is still very questionable and he'd need to improve that a lot if he was to become part of our bedt 22. I'm still not convinced.

52/57 people voted him a forward a month or so back, I would think it would be far more closer if it was redone today. I guess that signals that he is a quality swingman in the mould of Adam McPhee who could become an ideal sub (even though I hate the sub rule). Hopefully his injury is nothing serious and he starts round one.

Shows how misinformed posters are on this board.;)

I voted for him in defence - Best 22.

He is a backman, he has played there most of his career (apart from his handfull of senior games as well as a couple more at Bendigo). I actually like him in the backline but I have a couple of other talls ahead of him (Fletch/Pears/Hooker). If any of them go down then he will be a great reserve player.

He's probably more of a defender than a forward, yeah. But he can play both when required.. I like seeing him at either end, and if he's having a few kicked on him early, why not switch him to a role in the forward line and see if he can do some damage there?
Either way, he's still young and I am really looking forward to watching his development over the season.

Played most of his senior footy in perth as a defender. Spent 2009 forward to improve his draft prospects.

Played most of his time at bendigo in 2010 in defence - probably played forward 2 or 3 times before he was promoted to the seniors.

Can I vote for:

Whichever is the opposite end to Hurley?

I think he could be the guy that swaps with Hurley. Need more defensive edge, Hurley back Hardingham forward. Need a bigger body in the forward line, swap them back.

Great Call! I think his more of a natural defender having played most his career there. But if the need rises for a bigger body in defense, change it up with Hurls

first time i saw him play was in a praccy match against richmond (coburg) out at craigieburn. he starred off half-back and reminded me of david king. he's played the majority of his football off half-back and this is his best position for mine. i'm a massive wrap for him playing off half-back - his leap enables to either spoil or take a grab and he's also quick off the mark when rebounding. he tends to kick it rather than handball which i also prefer coming out of defence.

i laughed when hearing fans/commentators saying he's being reinvented as a defender given he's played most of his football there.

hardingham just might be our best small/medium defender.

:thumbsu: Nice post. I prefer him to Myers, Hibberd and Slattery. Strong in the air and his disposal is good, too.
