I was always curious to check this out since its the album that divided her fans. Always enjoyed the singles from it Breathe, Some Kind Of Bliss, Did it again. She really did pull of something different here and it works. There is stuff on here like the song Say Hey which sounds like something of a massive attack LP.

In some parts it's downright weird.. no more so than the opening track. There is alot going on. Pouding drums, horror movie strings with fleeting electronic screeches and piano. Sounds fresh 15 years later.

I think this summarizes why this album turned out real good...

Minogue had greater freedom to make Impossible Princess sound as she wanted it to. Deconstruction's A&R department had not been present for much of the recording, due to the poor health of its head, Pete Hadfield. This left Minogue with creative control over the project. At first she believed that the album contained too many musical styles, but changed her mind, stating, "I thought, partly to justify it to myself, but mainly because it's the truth, that if I had a whole album that sounded like "Some Kind of Bliss", or a whole album that sounded like "Too Far", it would be a lie, because I'm all over the place as a person

so yeah. if your interested, give it a go.
It's a rewarding listen and an odd album in her cannon

I've also been intrigued with checking this one out too (and I dont really have a great deal of time for Kylie in general). The singles from this had a very euro-feel, something that I felt the likes of Bjork and then Madonna perfected in the early 90's.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a Kylie fan and I have had this since it's release and it does contain some of her finest work. "Too Far" and "Cowboy Style" are my two favourites from this one.

Wow i haven't thought about this album forever. I had it and used to like it. To be honest, i can't even remember it but am sure will be reminded when i give it a listen. Thanks for posting this thread.

From memory this album was a massive flop in the UK and europe but a success in Australia.

edit: i remember both songs you posted :thumbsu:

Cheers for posting OP! One album I've been meaning to check out for years, but seems to be hard to find in alot of stores. Become an unabashed Kylie fan over the years, some of the pop songs shes produced over the years are pure gold. Cant believe 'Breathe', 'Some kind of Bliss' and 'Did it Again' are 15 years old! Still hold up really well!

This one made me a fan and have like a lot of her stuff since. Her best by far and Confide in Me is probably one of get best singles.
