Still having a hard time with athletes on a pure low carb diet, i dont think they exist. That doesnt mean i have reservations about LCHF as im convinced its the healthy option, but some form of carb loading seems to be a must.
Interesting. Ive switched to LCHF and feel really good most days. However at my soccer training and matches my legs just seem really heavy and tired. Think ill start to introduce more carbs leading up to the times when I have to play.

When having a protein shake, I can't stomach it with just water and milk has too may carbs. My solution: blend 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream with either water or almond milk and a bit of crushed ice with a scoop of protein and it is like a delicious thickshake treat. It also boosts the fat intake instead of being a very protein biased meal/snack, which keeps you way more satiated as well.

My new solution to upping fat intake and making everything more delicious is heavy cream! makes great sauces to smother meat in as well.

It makes it more natural too, whey should always be consumed with fat , meat has fat around it for a reason.
No cut of meat is fat free like a serve of WPI!

Just have a shake between meals. If you consume enough fat what should it matter when the day is consumed. It's a supplement not a substitute.

I buy thick 1kg Ribeye on the bone as it has a good fat/meat protein ratio, i leave it uncovered on a rack in the fridge for 2-3 days prior to cooking to age and dry the water moisture out, before i cook its salted at room temp for a few hours, and just before its cooked i smother with Avocado oil as its very thick and tends to stay on better than thinner oils, its best cooked on the Webber Q, 2 minutes at 45deg to the grill plate, then flip for another 2 minutes, then flip and turn the opposite 45deg on the grill for 2 more minutes, then flip for final 2 minutes. I then loosely tent it with thick tin foil for 8 minutes to rest, then one quick hot blast at a minute a side just before carving.

medium done, cooked very slowly in coconut oil, apple cider vinegar poured over steak during its last few minutes of cooking.
Chew vigorously while eating
I thought about trying coconut oil for cooking it but I was worried the aromatics of the oil might be too prominent and overpower the steak? Is that a problem at all? I noticed the brand of coconut oil I usually buy also has a non-aromatic version of it as well which might be better for cooking.

Nah it doesn't effect it at all. Not that I've noticed anyway.

Surely you're not trying to say animals have fat on them just for human consumption?

SJ. In the last few weeks this diet, or lifestyle as some people, including myself would prefer to call it, has literally changed my life. Over the last few weeks I have gone from being a diabetic with high sugar most of the time, even with insulin and feeling pretty miserable because of it, to insulin free and low blood sugars. I have also lost in excess of five kilos in that time and have more energy and vitality than I have had for years. You can mock it all you like but I am living proof that this works.
