You asked when the ump heard it, not when it actually went.
The siren went when Fremantle were in front, no debate about that, but the Ump didnt call time.

Are you going to take legal action against your player who was streaming out of defence with 40 odd seconds to go when you still had a 7 point lead. After all if he had done his job & found a target you would have won.

Oh I forgot; that would require you hold your own players responsible for your results, not the umpires, again.

I wonder if you would be sprouting this if it happened to your beloved Corollas...

Just be honest. Who is more responsible for you not bringing home 4 points. The umpires or your players who:

Blew a 30+ point lead in the third quarter,
blew a 7 point lead with 40 seconds to go,
wandered around congratulating themselves instead of playing to the umpires whistle (something they teach you in the under 7's).

Interesting to note that siren actually went after the umpire stopped play to bounce which means the clock should have been stopped.

Back to the ANZAC game last year when Hird ran of the mark and missed the goal as the siren went, the umpire hadnt blown time on and he got his kick again.

Actually they didn't blow a 7 point lead, they were still leading by one point at the end of the game (the real ending that is).

But yeah the dockers tried to go defensive and it almost cost them the game but they did stand up and win it in the end (unnofficially).
