i believe both would help us out majorly so long as we don't have to give up too much. too much being more than harding/baird/j Clayton types

we need a batting order of midfielders against the top teams and Lekkas would provide that off the bench. i know we may be robbing peter to pay paul in terms of development of young players grima/trotter etc but to be perfectly honest if they were as good as 'we' rate them surely they'd have played more games by now.

just my thoughts.

ps: competition up forward for places will makes us an infinetly better lineup in 2005 and beyond!

go kangas!

Mate ive woken up confused this morning reading in the hun that we are about to sign Lekkas to 4 YEAR DEAL , then read the age to see we are about to snare Zantuck , but then go back to the hun where they report Zantuck about to sign with the Bombers for a 2nd round selection , all this makes me want to go back to bed.

I hope we get both. You're right, it's the cost of getting both which is my only concern. Zantuck's still relatively young and both he and Lekkas would add to competition all over the ground IMO. I also think both would relish the new environment and would flourish with the culture of the place, and the influence of the like of Colby and Arch.

It's hard to guess what the Dawks are seeking in relinquishing Lekkas. I'd assume it'd be draft pick related. We'll probably end up off loading a Jezza/Ash Watson (though I think he'll be kept) type to a third club for a draft pick the Hawks would like.

Should be an interesting 4 hours ahead.

If we pulled off both of those deals I reckon we'd be the big winners from trade week, and the scribes would have to reassess their predictions for where the Roos will finish next year.

It was Trotts first season this year and Grima played early in the year but injured himself. Played in the Port finals.

agreed... how much misreporting can go on before people just refuse to buy newspapers??

don't know about giving up ash watson (who was a 1st round pick from memory) for a 28 year old. but who knows the way hawthorn are going they might say yes to J clayton + baird or something like that.... fingers crossed anyway.

I wouldn't want to give up Ash Watson..Pick 14 i think..Although he has 1 year to prove himself IMO.. Make or break 2005.

I honestly am not the slightest bit interested in either.

Lekkas is a reasonable player, but at 28 he just doesnt make sense at to where our list is. He isnt going to improve us that much and probably wont be part of our next flag.

And the idea of Piccibagofcrap just offends me. Yeah he is angry and has grunt, but he lacks talent and i've heard he has a dodgy jaw as well. ;) Thats not to mention that we already have plenty of players trying to work their way into our 22 who i rate as clearly better options. I dont think our list is at a stage where we need the luxury of "handy squad players". Its not like Ben Robbins or Shane Clayton improved our list to the stage where we were threatening for the top 4.

I'd much prefer young up and comers or blokes who are ready to take that next step over hack rejects from crap clubs.
