What do people think of "Neon" Leon? I think his axing from the Collingwood list is way overdue.

He had a terrific first half, and has completely dropped off I guess you have to say. Never should've been axed, and probably won't at the end of this season either. He is good enough to be in our 22 that made 2 Grand Finals, and despite inconsistency, it is something that only great small forwards can master. Leon has been a handy player for the Collingwood FC in what has been a 100 game plus career (the first indigenous player to reach the milestone at CFC) and I am sure there is probably more to come.

Fair points mate. But I do think that he played poorly in both '02 GF and '03 GF and until his good form early this season, he hasn't delivered. But I can't see him getting axed at the end of the year either.

He's had one quiet game ffs.
I reckon Leon has been absolutely superb this year. He hasn't dominated by any means, but he is bloody exciting to watch.... He tore Geelong and West Coast new ones. After the breather, he has fallen away, but he's had the one abominable game.

Yeah I agree with you there Coin Toss. He hasn't played his best the last few weeks but he has had a few friends!

Has ha d a good year this year. Last week was the only real blotch and that was the first game back since newnham kicked him. Think he will be around for a while longer.

I can't see Collingwood going anywhere while he is on the list. Never been a fan. Leon personifies everything that is wrong with the club. He looks good when things are going our way and other people are doing the work; but when the poo hits the fan and we are in trouble, Davis is nowhere to be seen
i'd keep him on for that game against geelong. wow that was special. everytime he got the ball the crowd would roar, even if he was 80m from goal. you need players like that to ignite the crowd every so often. has been his best season so far and I can only see him getting better in the years to come.
And how good was his goal against Geelong!

I can.
I 2nd that, Davis isnt alone, you could name several players! But he has had a very good season this year and only 1 real terrible game. It doesnt help when the team isnt working, and davis is only just one small cog in a long line of others that need to find their place again very soon as well as having others step up in their place to get the team back to its best. I'd rather see leon on the field than morrison anyday.
If Leon has turned finally the corner then we will see it over the balance of this season. If he has reverted to type and falls away then he has to go. You can’t build a premiership around front runners and players that play more bad games than good games and are not often enough in between. If Leon can’t finish the season off what makes anyone think his 8th season will be any different to his previous 7?n It is up to Leon.

I think he adds a spark to the midfield that has been missing for the past few games . He is a player that can lift the side , and the crowd , and that can be invaluable .
But he needs to find some more consistent form in the ressies and come back to what he added earlier in the season.

He MUST be injured! I personally think he's had his most consistent season (yes i know that's not saying much!) but i really think he's starting to come of age. Why you'd drop him now besides injury is beyong me. Not even MM would do so idiotic! You definitely drop Morrison before Leon wouldn't you?

Surely he will be traded at years end. Eagles would probably offer a second round pick for him id think.
