Re: Grand Final Graphics-Post 'em here

Well i understand the first part, but your wrong i have supported Port Adelaide for the past 20 years.

As for the rest of your 'sentence', "made up joke jumped on the crows bandwagon"

I assume the 'made up joke' is Port, hardly 'made up', unlike your mob. Where were the Adelaide Football Club in 1990? And how did we jump on a crows bandwagon?

They ceased to be in 1996 now we have port magpies and port power

Apparently the Australian Cricket team have made a pact not to celebrate scoring 100 until they get to 119. They consider 119 to now be the most important number in Australian sport.
You guys will get up to 119 in August next year too.

You guys can't have it both ways - why do we get taunted with the following if you are right?

Like their coach and arrogant players they were sounding off like they'd won the thing before theyd even played the game and then slunk off. Piss poor effort.

This is the Port that SA footy fans have known and loved for many decades. Welcome to the big league Port :D

But Maccas, what do you possibly have to base that statement on, there is no way of knowing what another club would do in the same situation, there are countless variables, no two games would ever be the same, its like us saying that if we could play the game again, we wouldn't have lost by that much, but its impossible to say, because its already happened. At the end of the day, hindsight is a beautiful thing, its like all of the people saying they would rather have not been there at all, that is true in hindsight, but in the week leading up to the grand final any of the fourteen other clubs would have jumped at the chance to be where port was.

Correct in what your saying, but what are you basing what your saying on that another club would have played worse?

Re: Grand Final Graphics-Post 'em here

You know what i mean by smashed everyone all year, no need to split hairs. Of course there were a few close games, but Geelong had everyones measure all year.

You are wrong about it being a choke, we were never expected to win, no one tipped us, so i cant see how this is a choke. We were outplayed by a far superior team, i dont like it but can live with it.

And if you know chocco at all you would know he was not cocky, he was just trying to add the pressure to the heavily favoured Geelong team. History shows id didnt work.
Let me put it another way then.
If Collingwood got smashed by 119 points in a GF by any team on earth....
would you consider that a "Choke" as an opposition supporter....of course.
What I am saying is you will not argue a "Choke" of these proportions away, even if every point you raise for a hundred days is completely valid.

GF day 07 the day port powers luck ran out

In the lead up to the finals lucky to beat Hawthorn Geelong Led Carlton by 8 and then lost that lead Lucky to beat us [Oh wait that doesn't happen much any more it would if you had a coach]
Only had 1 injury GF day
Lucky to beat the Eagles C grade side great win against the Roos but were celebrating the GF win half way through the last quarter of the Prelim

The only thing that did not affect you was the media attention you got thats the same all year round

Yes, there is. The fact that no other team has capitulated by a humiliating 119-points in a AFL Grand Final suggests that in all probability, no other club would have embarrassed themselves to the degree that Port Power did.

I know what your saying, but your assuming a bit much from me.

Just because you have a bad performance in a big game doesnt mean you are a choker, it can mean that but it doesnt always. A bit like Collingwood in 2003, just had a shocking day, not as bad as ours, but was bad.

You aslo forgot the fact that no other team played the Geelong 2007 team in the grand final. Therefore you have no idea how anyone would have went against them. I bet you didnt predict we would lose by 20 goals, so how can you confidently predict anyone would have done differently. They may have, but will never know.

Water under the bridge now, everyone is pointing and laughing at Port Power:D:thumbsu:

Re: Grand Final Graphics-Post 'em here

Come on Rooch get over it every one knows we did a huge job to make the 8 however finish 2nd told for years that your joke of a organisation dont lose premierships

119 what a disgrace

So wait a minute. What you are saying is that you did a huge job to make the 8 after finishing 2nd last year, but Port weren't good enough going from 12th to 2nd. I don't understand.

I agree. It is important that we never forget this terrible occurance.

I for one feel robbed of a quality grand final, the highlight of the football year. In order to prevent this happening again, i move that the Power disband, and join other sports more suited to their softness. Say... Synchronised Swimming.

Let's see how many times have the AFC lost by more than 100 points?

141 Bris Lions 29.15 (189) vs Adelaide 6.12 (48)
135 West Coast 26.21 (177) vs Adelaide 5.12 (42)
131 St Kilda 24.18 (162) vs Adelaide 4.7 (31)
123 Collingwood 23.22 (160) vs Adelaide 5.7 (37)
123 Geelong 32.18 (210) vs Adelaide 12.15 (87)
122 Essendon 27.20 (182) vs Adelaide 8.12 (60)
118 Sydney 25.9 (159) vs Adelaide 5.11 (41)
114 West Coast 29.13 (187) vs Adelaide 10.13 (73)

How many record grand final losses in that list?

None?

Oh well, it was a nice try.
