CL have everything to play for but I can't see them getting this one. I can't understand what the problem is. They have recruited well. Hille, Ladiges, Coon, Allen and Brown should on paper cover Head, Raynor, Porter and Pring.[/quote]

I think everyone under estimates how good pring and Raynor actually are they leave a huge hole in that side. Pring won a best and fairest in 2005 and is killing them in the central highlands from what ive heard. James Raynor is tuff at it and never sherks an issue, probably the best backman in the league if he could kick over a jam tin. Everyone knows how well Head and Porter play. You forgot to even mention Cam Leehane by far the best CHF in the league last year who has height strength and speed plus all the skills.
The blokes replacing these guys are all under 6 foot besides Ladiges. That suggest to me that maybe their lacking some height and key position players.
You make a good point madrooter, i dont think PRING, RAYNER and leehane get enough acknowledgement and the players c/l have picked up r all small players. I have been told of a good source that porter and raynor will be back this year, head and leehane r still on c/l list and rumour has it that head will qualify to play finals, so all they have to do is make the finals and they will give it a shake so what ever everyone does, the more u right them of the stronger they will be :thumbsu:

Just a reply on comments pring, raynor and leehane get enough credit:
- Pring, sheep dog never won a hard ball in his life always had blokes feeding him
- Raynor ok backman but undisciplined
- Leehane best football days past him, whoever said he was the best chf in LPFL last year knows nothin about this league
- Porter will not wear a C/L jumper this year, know him very well and told me will be lucky to play footy again with both knees no good

NEWS FLASH FORGET THE FOOTY IT'S OFFICIAL.

RETIRED C/L SECRETARY BRENDAN ' BLUEY ' O'BRIEN HAS TAKEN OUT THIS YEAR'S ROAST BEEF ROLL COMPETION AT NATTI LAST WEEKEND.

HE POLISHED OFF AN AMAZING 8 ROAST BEEF ROLLS.
IN 2ND PLACE CAME ROSS WATERS WITH 6 ROLLS NOT A BAD EFFORT THAT CONSIDERING HE ATE 2 ROLLS AT THE HALF TIME BREAK.
IN 3RD PLACE WAS HOWARD 'PLUGGER' LOCKETT WHO COULD ONLY PUTAWAY 5 ROLLS DUE TO A BOUT OF INDIGESTION.

WELL DONE LADS.

- Pring is good at what he does has been in the best 2 weeks in a row for Daylesford. Might not be a in and under player but you dont need to be when you have plenty of other blokes to do the physical work. Footballers play different roles in footy and pring plays his exceptionally well.

- I agree Raynor is undisciplined

- If Leehane wasn't the best in your mind he would have easily been top 3

- Your comments on Porter had little to no relavance at all to the point i was trying to make and everyone knows his situation

I saw Lexton just scrape over the line against Ararat yesterday, On a positive they are improving each week on a negative the umpiring was S--T for both sides, to the boys in white "you do a great job " all we want is consistant decisions.
Hi Bigun, do you know who the umpires were ? Ballarat or Ararat umpires?

Watched the Natte game they looked good, M.Verdoorn looked OK not sure what all the hype was he was not the MOUNTAIN MAN i thought he was going to be. Close game would have been closer had there been decent umpires i thought the umpires were pitiful, terrible 4 both sides. Was talking to a c/l player before the game and the word was that c/l was given a official warning before the game due to a Natte official ringing up the bfl and causing a stir, can anyone from Natte explain to me what all that saga was about??? Robinson for Natte was very good also Mcnamee 1st half was awesome second half i thought Fitzgerald had his measure, Noel Jacobs was terrible i thought all the previous posts about league medals and best and fairest and achievements maybe he just had a bad day but didn't put him in nattes top 5, For c/l Greenbank was awesome best on ground by a long way Hill 1%'s were exceptional tried hard all dayand found plenty of the ball. Number 30 for c/l Jamieson in the back line was very good also. On a wrap up of the game Natte were too good in a good standard game should go fairly high up the ladder this year on the other hand c/l could miss finals for the first time in many years. Does mortlock still play?? and Jardine was missing rumor has it he has gone walk abouts???

I was talking to a CL official and he said the phone call was regarding the 2 suspensions last week and the fact that they were playing their rivals Natte and were desperate for a win. He said he thought the league was concerned about a win at all costs attitude.

Doubt CL would miss finals. As Snail said, they are better than Illabarook, Lexton and Navarre so they should pull back the games. They have played 3 of the best teams IMO in Skipton, Rokewood and Natte. I would expect an underdone/undermanned team to lose those games. Navarre was a surprise for me though.

One of my mates was speaking to a few Natte guys and they said that Mortlock and Steven Ross were injured and should be back this week. Jardine is OS at the moment but will be back.

The umpiring was very average at the Lexton - Ararat game. Both sides were very frustrated throughout the day. Both sides looked OK - The game developed in to a wet slog which probably suited the eagles a bit more. They will hang in there against most sides this year. On the other hand, Lexton are definitely improving after a slow start and Carghnam will have to be on their metal to beat them this week. Lexton's better players where their recruits - Johnson, Chew and Hucker who pretty much dominated all day up forward.

How did Ross Waters go Layzerman?? See he was in the best looked like he had been in a good paddock and gave away to many free kicks in the first couple of games in seen. Good to see c/l struggling and your bulldogs are going alright.

He gave a few silly frees early but did well for the rest of the game. I'd personally like to see him elsewhere and not play under his brother. He has the makings of a very good player if he could find be a little more self disciplined.

He was definetly in CL's best 3.

Very interesting there Slasher as Leehane and Head both put clearances in yesterday.

Head's is already rejected but the intention seems clear.

yes i seen that leehane had a clearance in, well sounds like heads will be rejected, cos i no of a very good source that he has been at c/l training the last 3 thurs nights all im saying is what would he be still hanging around for why would he be driving all the way out there

i like how people on this forum bag people out, any team would of took those 3 players last year, u call pring a sheep dog he has won a b/f in a premiership year (not a bad sheep dog), leehane finished 3 last year in there b/f so stiil goes alright, and has 4 raynor we werent talking about attitude we were talking about ability and he is definatly one of the best back men in the league, im actually interested to no exactly what u have done in footy GOLDEN FLYER what r your credentials, or r u one of these blokes that is no good and bag other players that go alright:eek:

I'll take your word for it Slasher seeing you seem to be in the know. My only thought is that Head still put the clearance in yesterday despite being there the past 3 Thursdays.

No doubt he would be a massive inclusion and could single handedly turn things around for CL.

Well done to all the winners mentioned at Natte. I understand Matt Stasse put down 9 rolls but was ineligable due to suspension. In other news, Dave Linane ate 6 hot dogs, 5 dimmies and a large packet of doritos well done Dave

if the umpiring was so bad mate how bout u get out there and have a crack at blowing the whistle, and ill sit there and abuse u .. then u mite understand jus how hard umpiring really is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are you talking about and what was the gist of it?

I'd say it was about a radio personality (allegedly) who also happens to be an umpire (allegedly) slaking off at c/lint on the radio on Sunday. Not sure why mobbenfuhrer pulled it, maybe its getting like the afl - no criticism of umps - even when they not umpiring!!!!!

Sounds like you would have to be a C/L player or supporter there slasher as for my credentials played against all these players numerous times so have seen them in action. Have been a coach, interleague rep and B&F winner are these enough credentials for me to have an opinion!!!
Also slasher do you play or are you on off field critic?

The manner in which the argument was presented lacked a little ... err ... decorum! :)

Criticism is fine, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to the effort of reconstructing a sanitary version of the post :thumbsu:

I see Leehane has been rejected to go to Swan Valley FC in the West Australian Amatuer League. Is CL planning to fly him over for the games Slasher?:D
