Read my last post in the WFL was so close because we had a fair few out but didnt. I know weak;):p

Un undermanned Lexton side forced the game to be played as 15 vs 15, with Legget, Butler and Bywater all playing despite injury clouds. Bywater was rested for a lot of the game and didn't spend any time in the ruck though. Eagles played a consistent four quarter effort, slamming 5 goals to none on in the first quarter. They finished the game strongly and ended up running out 83 point winners - keeping Lexton goaless until the last 20 seconds of the game.

Major goal kickers were Butler with 8 and Legget with 4-5.

Standout Eagles players were Butler, Zanos, North and Legget. Ivermee, Swabba, Richards and Thommo all played good games too and any of them could've made it into the best. Next week is arguably the biggest game of the season, Navarre vs Ararat. Should be a great game.

Any reports, scorelines or notes from any of the other games played today?

If only ararat could have played the way there playing atm at the start of the season!! They are setting up well coming into finals the real test will be next round against Navarre!

Thanks swabba mate, dunno I thought I played ok but don't like to talk myself up, also there were so many good players to choose from today so yeah. Great all round team performance. Yeah big hawk if only we were switched on for the first half of the year, but at least we're hitting form at the right stage of the season.

I think based on our current form we are serious contenders whereas earlier in the year we weren't on the same level as the top 4 teams. But I really can't pick a winner yet - Navarre probably just have the edge but the next four teams are basically all evenly matched.

Yeah its good to see we are sitting in third , and for todays game i think it was a team effort we had a solid 18 contributers who did there job. good to see butler etting more goals to extent his lead in the goal kicking,

Wonder how any porky kicke must of been a few unless dunne kicked few, it will also god to see how many leithhead and jeffery's kicked, nd also wether or not lang played
 
Andy leithhead didn't kick alot, maybe 3 or 4 at the most, ash driscoll kicked about 6 maybe-he'll correct me if i'm wrong, and Dave Lang played a half, kicked 3 in the first quarter on his ear. roughly a ten goal win-was some rumours of some BFL ringins playing with rokewood but i'm not sure about it.

Its not completly settled yet there are stil a few rounds to g and who knows wat could happen

Actually it 99% is settled. For Eagles to drop to fourth they would have to lose to both Navarre and Rokewood because if you add the 16% percentage advantage (like 150 points) we are two games ahead of C/L.

Also C/L would have to knock off Illabrook even if we did manage to lose against Rokewood.

Yeh I know you don't like to talk yourself up mate.. Is the first week of finals really that set? Look at how much Carghnam's percentage dropped just after this week..

Lets hope it is settled!!
The double chance would really increase our chance at making the granny!!
 
Well I guess the only other way they could overtake us is if they beat Natte by 100 points and we lost to Navarre by 60 points to make up that percentage gap but then we'd get the percentage up against Rokewood the next week anyway so...unless something hugely unlikely happens then the positions in the top 5 are all set.
 
Very big game this week Ararat vs Navarre
We find out how much Ararat has improved in the last 5 weeks after beating every other team (exept Rokewood who they beat the week before they last played Navarre).
 
doggies had a big win over natte today, jeffries kicked 7 or so.

Better players schiltz,Greenwood,ashman.

talk around the club was that the hole Ararat team was looking at suspention and loss of points over the inncident in the local papers.

Side actually hasent been put up its just the side from last week in the "out" sections but apparently Lang played

and im not just saying this because im an Ararat player but I think it would be terrible if Ararat lost their points as from what ive heard it has nothing to do with the under 17s
