Nothing to feel bad about though, croweater and Foley along with the other Stay-wellians and Araratians have turned our WFL thread into a discussion involving pr0n, ski-ing and who has what colour hair.

I am only interested in one of those things;)

When everybody is rating the team's finals chances they've all mentioned the standout players being the major factor but I think come finals time it's all about depth more than anything. Sure, one or two players can have a big impact on the game - but at the end of the day I reckon the teams up at the top are there because of their huge depth more than anything.

Whatever team has the biggest amount of solid contributors doing their job on the day will probably come out on top, more so than one or two big players changing the course of the game IMO. The best 2-3 players from each team pretty cancel each other out, so I think it'll come down to who has the best group of second tier players who can step up and take the pressure off the top couple players from each side.

Yeah good post your right there and anything can happen come finals time

Changing my predicted winning margin for the Eagles down to like 20 points since they will be without Bywater and Butler - pretty much the keys to the midfield and forward line. The whole team structure will be scrambled all over the place a bit now, but hopefully we can still get the points. I think it should actually be a tough game and quite possibly a danger game going against Lexton who are in the best form they've been in for a few years.

whats wrong with butler and baywater?

Well, neither of them are really serious injuries, but they're being rested just to be on the safe side and keep them fresh for finals.

Butler tweaked his ankle and Bywater had a couple of back troubles that stopped him playing most of the game last week as well. Both will definitely be back for finals - probably earlier though.

lucky its only lexton

Lexton can still be a danger game if you have a down day and are missing key players as you guys nearly found out a few weeks ago when you played them, but yeah I get ya point. Lucky it's not against a top 5 side or it would make things very tough.

Are Illabrook back to a full stength side yet Panda Boy?

My tips for Round 14:

Ararat Eagles Vs Lexton: The Ararat eagles have been playing some really good footy of late and need the win to have any chance of making the top three and should be able to handle an improving Lexton side, but every game is a knew game and we'll see tomorrow afternoon, if the Ararat boys are up to the challenge. Ararat by 18 points.

Skipton Vs Carngham Linton: Being played at Skipton, this could be a danger game for the saints but with a top three finish at stake the saints should prevail. Statistics show that Skipton haven't beaten a top 5 side all year but have got very close this should be the game of the round and will go down to probaly the last kick of the day. Saints by 2 points.

Illabarook Vs Natte Bealiba: Should be a percentage booster for the dogs and should have way too much clase for a struggling swans out fit. Shouldn't be much of a game. So Illabarook 75 points.

Navarre Vs Rokewood: This could be a long day at the office for the Rokewood boys, and with the possible return of David Lang could spell double trouble for a helpless Rokewood, Should be a good percentage booster for Navarre and should come out 80 point winners.

My tips this week
Ararat vs lexton: far too strong even without butler. Ararat by 40 points.

Skipton vs C/L: will be a top game. Parker will have a few problems to settle with his ex 'club'. he will kick 7 in a thriller. Robbo will fire in the middle. Skipton by 8 points.

Illabarook vs Natte: Toughness of illabarook will destroy the softness of natte. Illabarook by 60 points

Navarre vs Rokewood: navarre will take this game no problems. will run rings around rokewood. Hannett and lang will make a huge difference to the midfield. Navarre by 100 points
