More likely of West coast coughing up a 2nd rounder or future 2nd rounder.

Baker has played 120 games and kicked 49 goals and 49 Behinds.

Again Baker is a solid player. A WA team offering up a 1st rounder is paying overs.

If he signed a 1 year deal what would he become? A FA. Duh.

Free agents get paid more to move as they come for free. No draft capital. Still with us?

Baker is looking for a big pay day. Similar in nature to what a FA gets. But he isnt a FA. So clubs wont pay him above market because they still need to pay in draft picks. Not a free acquisition.

Its not a hard concept to follow.

So the only way he moves for a a sizable deal is agreeing to the club negotiating hard and not paying massive overs. In draft capital or players.

A 1 year contract won’t happen for a host of reasons, however assuming as reported at least 1 WA club is keen, the deal gets done this year. Both clubs will work out what’s fair and reasonable ……… a WA club get a very handy player, the RFC get a look at another kid ……… simples!!

Richmond need leaders of his age.

Freo and Eagles have them and need to spend draft picks on the future not a solid role player and we have quality leaders. Need quality youth, not overpaying for what we already have.

It isnt a hard concept to understand. Why pay overs for simething you already have and forego draft capital that needs to be used on kids? The fact some Tigers posters on here dont get that says a lot about their intelligence.

I agree. To be honest Lachie Schultz value would of been worth between pick 18-34.
