How many times can you hear the commentators scream "Jones, almost!" - bloke can run under the ball with the best of 'em.

Below average forward has quiet game in NAB Cup game.

Big stuff.
We aren't talking about Matthew Watson. Please stay on topic.

This thread is not for below average footballers, Liam is going to be a star.

Get around him and give him another hug.

In a half of footy Caleb Daniel had 11 disposals and looked lively. Thanks Carlton

With a pick that late, it's no issue. It's not as though we would have taken him and there is a chance he would have been around for you in the rookie draft. These are hardly players that can be compared with the respective needs of each side at the time.

Blues lost an experienced Forward (Waite) and were looking for an experienced forward to replace him.
Jones was the best available.
No one's expecting him to set the world on fire but he's better than nothing.

He may turn out good, he may not, who really knows?
If he can kick 1-2 a game, it's a win for Carlton.

Come on doggys fans, we are better than this! Not like Carlton gave up a 1st rounder for him, it's his 3rd practise match playing for his new club, don't be salty with the kid, just be happy we have Tom Boyd and move on...

Are you over 190cm? A great mark? A terrible kick? Then Carlton may have a spot for YOU!

Are you unsure when to leap? Do you struggle to time your leads? Do you lack a second effort? Do you need to build your tank?

Carlton has plenty of places for forwards who share the same glaring deficiencies! Register your interest today at Ikonvisyprinces Ovalpark!

(on the real tho, today could have gone WAY worse. Not bad.)

Looked dreadful playing on Harry Taylor until we rejigged our forward line so he could kick a couple on Rivers.

This, fairly sure this what most blues fans think.

You're obviously new around here. I suggest you do a little more reading and adjust your attitude young man.

Sensing the Dogs supporters are watching Jones intently with the hope that he'll fail and the fear that he'll turn into the player they hoped he would at the Dogs

Get over it and move on! You got yourselves a good little player in Daniel

I would have been happy to keep Jones but don't offer any ill will on him now that he's left. I just don't think he'll ever get it through his head what is required to play at AFL level. He continually runs under the ball, lacks forward pressure and drops his head far too often. But the glimpses he does on occasion show make you think he's worth persisting with. Above all else, his biggest problem is his tank. It has been a point of focus since he was drafted but hasn't improved at all after many many pre seasons. Just won't make it sadly. Tutt may become something if he ever stops panicking with ball in hand.

While I'm on the subject of Doggies cast offs, Higgins, I truly hope fails. When you back someone year after year with continual injuries, form slumps etc, and pay him well to do so, it goes a long way to show the type of man he is, when he decides to jump ship. A mercenary dressed in a squib outfit.

I guess he is speaking from experience.

I thought Higgins was pretty good, when he was fit, problem was that he was always getting hurt. He never spent that many seasons upright at the Dogs while they were still a top 4 side, thought he was pretty good in 2009, by the time he got to playing a reasonable number of games consistently the dogs were done and were rebuilding.

He probably isn't the type of player you need while rebuilding. You need the grunt, you need the leadership, you don't really need a half-forward flank who is a good finisher.
