Yet Henderson and Casboult go into the season as better key forwards than anyone at the Western Bulldogs.

Aren't you the guy who was calling Petracca "a once in a generation player" when it looked like the saints were certain to draft him, and then completely backflipped when news broke that the Saints would draft Mccartin?

That was hilarious, thanks for keeping us entertained over the off-season!

It would be hilarious if I actually backflipped but I haven't. I still maintain Petracca is a once in a generation player and a gun. McCartin is simply the best key forward that was seen as a greater need.

Waite, Robinson, Lucas and Garlett were ousted by MM for their laziness, mental softness and poor work ethic. Waite was dropped twice in 2014 for sheer laziness after he was dropped from the leadership group after 2013 for similar issues. They had little choice in the matter so I doubt Carlton fans will go out of their way to bag them once they left. Lucas in particular had talent but his effort on the track was pathetic and he hated the physical side of football.

Jones left on his own terms despite his issues on-field.

Waite, Robinson, Lucas and Garlett were ousted by Mick for laziness, mental softness and poor work ethic so you trade in Liam Jones as the answer. That is an absolute doozy! Lol

Anyone who is obsessed with another club (and mainly another poster) probably needs to step away from the computer for a while and analyse where they are at.

Jones has a decent record against the Tiges, so he'll have a good chance to kick his career off as a blue in a positive way. Good luck to him!

Our key forwards are a 19 year old number 1 draft pick, a 20 year old number 5 draft pick (who kicked 22 goals in the last 8 games of the 2014 season, only 6 less than Henderson's season tally and 7 more than Casboult's) and a 24 year old from the rookie list who has had his injury issues and is enjoying a brilliant preseason.

Henderson I'll pay (for now), bur claiming that Casboult is better than Stringer is just laughable. He wouldn't be getting a game ahead of any of Boyd, Stringer or Redpath.

Casboult would be ahead of redpath easily at this stage.
The other two, not even close

Not talking about me are you?

We've been through this - I'm obsessed with half the league.

My mate Adam ;)

I can't see his posts, but from the sounds of it he still tries to reply to me

Just worry about your Seaford Saints before trying to take smart ass pot shots at the dogs

Really perplexes me how anyone rates Casboult. He's slow as treacle, turns like the titanic, and can't kick goals.

For all the shit Jarrad Grant gets, he's much more likely to be a good AFL player than Casboult. And he already is. Casboult has been on the list for 5 or so years now and playing since 2012. He has kicked 29 goals in his career. Grant kicked 29 goals in 2010, with his last few games of 2013 (including a hatchet job on Carlton) being a better stretch of football than Casboult ever will produce.

Grant has looked ok this NAB cup too, especially compared to Casboult, hope he is over his injury struggles.

So if I'd looked a little further, I would have seen that 20 year old Jake Stringer's 8 game, 22 goal stretch was only 7 goals shy of Levi 'would be the Bulldog's best KPF' Casboult's career?

and yet your club apparently went after Levi when he was out of contract.

Jarrad Grant has shown all this ability in the whole 12 games he has played in 2013 and 2014 seasons.?

Our club apparently goes after every out of contract KPF during trade periods.

Hopefully that will end now that we landed Boyd.

A supporter of a club with Matthew Kreuzer on their books should appreciate how frail some bodies are.

Sadly for Casboult, Grant's eight games in 2013 were enough to yield only two less goals than Casboult kicked for the entire season last year.

As for us apparently wanting Casboult, Lions apparently wanted Grant. Neither trade eventuated though, thankfully for us on both counts.

The media/player managers have been linking us with every dud KPF during trade time for years and Levi was just the latest in a very long line. Doesn't make any of the speculation true.

Speaking of duds, I thought this thread was about Liam Jones.

Stringer & Grant were taken at pick 5 and their stats barely surpass a player taken at pick 89.

Bulldogs fans try to defend this...

Stringer is not even a KPF so not sure what the comparison is there!!

We currently have 3 better KPF than the dogs right now. Jones is a better KPF than Redpath. Averages more tackles (for a bloke that doesn't chase?), goals and marks. 3 games from Redpath is not enough to make him a better option than Jones.

Time will tell, but really we have nothing to lose from this situation.

Wut? Am I looking at the wrong person's stats (hey, it's late) or are you?

These are why we keep Cas. We all know his kicking is completely shithouse, but without him in the side, there is a distinct lack of targets we can kick long to when we need it and he is actually a pretty good relief ruck. For all his shortcomings, the club will persist with him as long as it can. You don't throw away one of the best marks in the comp without trying everything.
