I've just noticed I've been on Bigfooty since Jan 2005 -- 5 years. That was even before I actually was a Dr.

Don't we get life membership or our number on our locker or something?

Surely watching new posters get all excited with each new batch of draftees and weighting them far superior than players that those who have actually forged a career is worth something?

Or for those posters arguing vehemently that Daniel Gilmour must get a game. I've watched Grover been pasted, loved, lauded and then conscripted to oblivion not once but twice. I can remember when Matty Carr was considered the trade of the season after he was in the top 10 mark takers in the AFL in his first season with us.

I'm still here listening to the same old carp about Des Headland being soft or lazy or talentless to know that he'll take the field and pull off some football magic like he did with that soaring mark against Richmond in his first game last season. We just seem to win more games when he's in the team.

I can remember when Monkey Medders was loved, and then two goals a game became not enough, and he had to do more.

I could go on and on, and generally do, but just send me the membership badge.

I should add I can remember when IP's kids were actually children.

I get Vet status this year. I popped in for a couple of years before that but never bothered joining as I was a censorlander. Thought the sig to noise ratio was a bit much here. Finally decided the noise was worth it when yet another post I'd laboured over for hours trying to weed out any possibly offensive content was deleted inexplicably on the other board.

i'll have to say i enjoy the posts of the good docter,always full of wit and accurate too.
i couldnt belive last year when i actually paid 10 bucks to join up so i would have access at peak times.(i wouldnt tell anybody,it would ruin my reputation as the worlds biggest tightass)

It was a tough gig in the early days and history certainly does have a habit of repeating itself (Bigfooty and club wise).

But I've certainly enjoyed the ride.

I originally thought this thread was about fremantle dockers lifetime memberships...Those of us there from season 1.

Hey E, The Vet board aint much, not missing much.

I think most started off at Dockerland and either got sick of the editing or the amount of biscuit vrs Footy talk. Then found our way here.

I can thank Shane over at DL for my transition to BF. I wonder how many others also migrated over from "Toe the Line or Piss Off"land?

You can count me as one of those who migrated over. Funnily enough I only became aware of BigFooty after reading some DL posters slagging it.

Shane's world had me searching for a place I could get pissed, type something, then check the next day to see If I really said that.

Sabre by himself then with Ripper (cant remember the other mods if we had another) let our board be pretty casual. But newbies from other boards thought they could come and cut loose so the guillotine came out and a good few got sent packing without any please or thank yous.

In some ways it was entertaining reading the rants and insults of some of those dead sh1ts. Baiting was a reasonably good past time.

I believe you should get life membership after 5 years service. (ie free BFC). or maybe just give it to the oldest active top 5% or something
