As there seems to be less and less interest in players for the interleague concept in country victoria, perhaps the idea should be scrapped and at the end of the season a round robin competition involving the premiers of all the major league and another for the minor league teams to play off to see who is the best team in country victoria. A large loot of prizemoney for the winners would keep the clubs fair dinkum in putting their best teams forward. Prizemoney such as 40 000 for major league winners and 20 000 for the minor league perhaps. Perhaps leagues could push their starting dates earlier (although this would be getting increasingly harder with the state of grounds) so that the two finalists could play a curtain raiser game after the TAC cup grand final on grand final day at the g, for the major league and for the minor leagues preliminary final at the g, im sure most footballers would love ot be part of the big stage on the last saturday in september. Their would have to be a groupings stage and rankings put in place, similar to the soccer world cup, such as the clubs, that were in the leagues that were part of playing in division 1 in country championships been split into different groups, with this occuring throughout to make the group stages in the major league teams and perhaps a region breakdownn in groups for the minor leagues. Just imagine watching the mighty gisborne bulldogs taking on the seymour lions on tv on grand final day, or the shane harvey led wakool taking on mount pleasant, or calivil in even a group stage, im sure this would create interest throughout the country viewing public, and even though this is definetly a pipedream it would be great to watch, im sure i will get plenty of riducule for this idea

What about this one, why don't they play interleague as a curtain raiser to the A.F.L. this would create alot of interest from players and there would be some childhood dreams coming true for a few by playing on the G or at the Dome. I think they played a interleague grand final a few years back at the G and it had alot of interest from the public. And I think it would be good to put the best of the country under the nose of a few A.F.L. clubs you never know what could happen!

Yep thats a good idea it would spark some interest for sure and leagues are likely to produce closer to their best line up's.

Couple of problems that i can see Trent. Firstly there are leagues like the GV and Bendigo this year who's Grand Finals will be played after the AFL GF. Secondly, i would thnk that once a club has won their GF the lads would turn their focus to celebrating th win, and fronting up the next week or so would be the last thing they would be thinking of. I wouldn't know as i havn't played in a flag

this idea is very much a pipe dream. but in a way it would make good competition.. one idea i had was that it be made like a UEFA Cup stye set out but instead of being played through out the season it could be a pre season comp..

GEELONG played Bendigo in a Div. 1 semi-final at the G on a Queen's Birthday holiday Monday four seasons back.
That was in the halcyon days when the BFL still was a regular in Div. 1
Geelong trounced the Blue and Golds as it turned out with big Stewart dominating in the ruck but Reaps at F-F still kicked two-thirds of Bendigo's score
It was a curtain-raiser to an AFL match that particular day

From what I have seen of you Roota you never will! If you spent less time on here and more working on your game you might get a ressies flag! if you were fit and in career best form!

Get f***ed Richard. We will just had and see at the end of the year shall we. I cannot wait for this year to start and prove all you pricks wrong!!!

Perhaps all the bottom teams in the leagues could play each other in a lightning premeirship at the end of the seaon with teams having to have won less then 3 games or have a percentage less then 25 to enter the competetion to see who is the worst team in country victoria

its good how they have 1 or 2 years of Lightning premiership and a 4 full Quarter matches the following season , they brought it back like that cause players hate the lightning premiership hope they eventually send it to the Scrap heap, and just keep the good old 4 full quarter matches :thumbsu:
