Sadly we don't see enough population growth to prevent mergers in the long run, all of the factors that cause mergers in other areas are still at play, especially the aging population. Mount Gambier is growing more than other areas in the South East though.

Summer sports in particular have declined so hopefully we don't see that in winter. Apart from Tarpeena, the last club lost in the South East was Beachport 60 years ago so it's great we have that stability!

most players who play for those msefl clubs are from mount gambier or millicent
