If a bit for Patterson comes in at 20-25 then the trade period will have been a failure IMO.
Yeah, so we gave up.. 19 and 36 for a these picks in the 20s that we gave in this trade and only get 1 pick back..
Should have just kept them.

We’ve got a ready made breakout player, gonna get a gun player in the draft in Centra and people are still complaining…… and apparently we have enough for a Patterson bid
If a bid comes in for Patterson @ 20-25 we will have effectively traded Breed for Pick 19. Too high of a price IMO.
(Moloney cost Sydney Pick 22 for reference.)

If a bid for Patterson cames in @ 27+ then Breed would have cost Pick 37 and a downgrade from Pick 19 to 26 which is fair enough.

As Harris is unavailable Centra was always getting drafted by us you would think.

I think if we had kept them, 19 would have been traded
Therefore, we end up with Breed, Pick 1 + 36 ...
- Less chance Patterson gets past pick 36

Due to the trade we have Breed, Pick 1 + 26 ...
Reasonable chance Patterson makes it past 26

Expensive trade

As part of the trade with Hawthorn, Breed arrives at Collingwood alongside pick 26 in exchange for picks 22 and 28 in this year’s Telstra AFLW Draft

Ouch, 2 top 20 picks, but Breed has the ability to win a clearance, something we lack more often than not.
I think the Breed/Centra combo could be an exciting watch....

She was 1 of the Better Players at Hawks so was never going to be Really Cheap

So guess we'll have 2 picks inside 30, and then violet after that with prob pick 45. Even if a bid came at pick 30, we can still use 45 to match as it is within 18 picks

What about Airlie Runnalls?

I don't mind it. Breed fills a need in our midfield, and that's an ability to win clearances. She's only 22, so will be part of our midfield with Centra for quite a few seasons to come.....
indeed, I’m a big fan. That’s a 10 year midfield essentially

Breed is also a legitimate utility too, has the ability to play either end and ruck too. So very Blicavs like when you think about it

It said we had an interest, not sure how definite that is. We'll see tomorrow.

Pies still pursuing Freo speedster

COLLINGWOOD is still pursuing a move for Fremantle speedster Airlie Runnalls, though talks remain at a standstill with just under four hours remaining in the AFLW Trade Period.

The Pies have picks No.26, 45 and 55 to work with in negotiations with the Dockers, while they're also due to go into next Monday night's first ever national AFLW Draft with the prized No.1 selection.

The interest in Runnalls follows a Trade Period where Collingwood has already secured a move for Hawthorn midfielder Mattea Breed, while Fremantle landed a deal for Sydney forward Bella Smith.

Runnalls has played 45 games across four seasons for the Dockers. – Riley Beveridge

I'm happy with this. Seems like a really good long term pairing with Centra. Her versatility also matches the broader club philosophy of players being able to play multiple roles.

55 would have to be the pick. Should take 2 in the draft before using 45 on Patterson

Well, reported as just just the one pick changing hands.
Who knows?
Which would then leave us with pick 1, 26 55, 73, 91, 109

A bid coming at pick 30, pick 55 isnt enough as thats more than 18 picks. Unless they think a bid will come later than that.

Hopefully they know what they are doing with the picks

Unless we just plan on taking Patterson with pick 26

I will be disapointed if Patterson is picked up with Pick 26 (used to be Pick 19)

I was looking forward to Centra (Pick 1), Pick 19 and Patterson (Pick 37) as a good foundation to build from.

If it ends up being Centra (Pick 1), Patterson (Pick 26), Breed & Runnalls.
Then we have effectively used Pick 19 on Breed & Runnalls.

Hopefilly Patterson slides to (Pick 55 minus 18) 37+?

Hopefully she slides til mid 30's, and maybe they think she will which is why they gave away that pick 45

Uh, what are we using for Patterson? Isn't the pick in the 50's not enough? Lets see the deal if we get anything back

26

We must not rate this Draft as High as Players we Traded In

Collingwood currently has picks 1, 26, 55 in the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft which will be held next Monday, December 16.
