Interesting to hear about Dustin Martin and Richmond. I'm a no for looking at him based on I believe that he's more trouble than he is worth. but hypothetically if he was on the straight and narrow, should we consider?

If he was one the straight and narrow Richmond would pay the $600k pa he wants. Yeah glib answer.

I want us to chase someone, show the AFL world we're serious. We were paying 95% of the cap (base amount) and have Cooney & Gia on reduced $$$ next year. We have the dollars, lets strengthen the side. Patton, Crameri, Docherty, someone either good or who will be very shortly. Heck, even ask the question about Daisy as a FA.

Fair enough.

Martin is essentially an inside mid with good evasive skills and a long kick. He has a good burst of speed along the lines of a Sam Mitchell but is definitely not a 'jet' as some have suggested.

Good player but not the type we need. We need KP players or classy fast outside mids.

From all the reports, we are offering Crameri 1 more year then Essendon and an extra $700,000 but the longer he takes to make a decision makes me think he's very much 50/50. If we dont get Crameri do you think we'll look at plan B which may be Gumbleton, White, Kersten or just look to the draft and maybe get a tall in next year's crop of youngsters?

I think we need to do this regardless of if we pick up Cramers.

Pfeiffer is past it. Rejected by two clubs already. Just because you recognise the name doesn't make it a good pick.

That Nick Salter played a few good games, wonder what happened to him?

Pfeiffer was also on Adelaide's list at one point so that's three clubs.

If another club has delisted them I'd say forget it. Look for the next Tory/Goodes with a late pick if you want maturity or go for youth.

We're clearly into Crameri and will take a look at Gumby but frankly I don't see the point in Gumby - has been reasonably fit recently but still spent too much time in the reserves, can't see him doing much more than Grant or Jones. Crameri obviously has a role to play for us and is clearly a best 22 player. I'd endorse Thomas at the right price but expect he'll be at Carlton.

It's either best 22 players, talented young players that want to move (ie Koby) or draft for me.

If we wanted the Dustin Martin type we should have picked Ollie Wines (who I reckon is better than Martin anyway) but we went first for the other Martin (Jack) and when that didn't transpire we ended up picking Macrae, so I guess he was more the type the club thought we needed.

From everything I've searched.. the rumours have come from..

1. Respected? bulldogs posters on Bigfooty
2. That medical rumour from About a Boyd
3. TAC cup future stars show saying that patton is a target of ours (with no source)
4. NO articles linked to it

Not sure what else.
