Yes!! Sanders is who I wanted.

Got a great forward line of the future on our list but gotta address the approaching midfield cliff. This bloke could carry a big load from the get go! Bloody love it! Best 22 tomorrow!

Very happy we landed Sanders. Interesting to read that he had the highest scoring national championships in terms of AFL ratings in history.

Was that Schultz at the end walking up and shaking the hands of, and talking to Sanders family? What a guy.

Can someone explain to me North's strategy? Use pick 2, then bid, then use pick 3.

If they rated Walter enough to bid on him at either pick 2 or 3, why wouldn't the bid come at pick 2? It's the same result for them - either Gold Coast match and North end up with the same players, or Gold Coast pass and North end up with McKercher and Walter which is what they achieve with a bid at 3 anyway. At least make your competitors pay up as much as possible you numptys.

EDIT: oh of course, I forgot they traded some picks back at trade week. Wink wink, nudge nudge, very discrete nothing to see here.

Thought Eagles wanted him badly? Wonder if they even offered a trade at all.

The trade was really a slight downgrade of the Giants first pick, and slight upgrade of their second. So really in value it was a F2 given up for Curtin. The Eagles F1 was probably not enough to win the Giants over.

not blessed with speed by the looks of things but he is a natural footballer. You can tell he can juts get the ball and his first options seems to bust packs and go forward not sidewards. He already has a big body, remind me of JHF from port.

Im happy

If they were fair dinkum they'd set up the bidding so that any club could bid at any pick. That'd keep them honest!

True open market, not this exclusive-pick, wink-wink, shady-handshake stuff.

It really doesn't matter, GC had already traded for a billion more picks once it opened. They just won't use their last picks now

That would be significantly better.

I had forgoten about North trading their future priority pick to Gold Coast a couple of weeks back. So much integrity, well done AFL.

It may not have a material impact but come on, it literally makes zero difference to North to have bid at 2. This is apparently a competition. North not doing so is just a clear confirmation that some hands have been shaken behind closed doors, there is no plausible deniability like the Daicos bid sliding in 2021.
