I've played 8 years there and its always been quality. Perhaps muddy during footy season but i've never been down there much during that time. They haven't spent a cent on touching the surface of the ground.

After xmas you generally score 250-300 on there. If it beats the in field its 4. Last year was probably the slowest its been for a while.

Umpires room? They are lucky they get rooms at all. What do you want in there? A plasma screen and deck chairs?
Some room, probably 1 of the smallest rooms in the league

They have spend alot of money on trying to improve the drainage to stop it becoming a mud heap, hasnt worked

I didn't realise G Grade got to play on Domeney?

You are speaking about something you know very little about...

I played cricket there in U/16s for Manningham when it was a mud heap in the 1st week of the season, cost us a spot in the finals as they were the bottom side so would have been a guaranteed win

But in footy I have umpired/played about a 100 games on the ground, I know all about the Domeney Dump and seeing as we were playing our home games there we know all about the money they wasted on it for 0 improvement

So you've seen it in cricket season once about 6 years ago? and the first game of the season cost you finals? right...

Which footy club did you play for out of interest? I know a few of the guys from the senior/junior footy clubs there and i'll find out if you were any good...;)

Well that game was 1 of about 3 draws against **** teams yet that game it hadnt rained for about a week unlike the other 2 which were washouts and we missed out on finals by whatever they used to seperate teams tied on points

More than 1 junior footy club used Domeney? And I can guarantee if anyone you know knew me from the Sharks then the report wont be nice ;)

Haha. Both great blokes.

Who do you play with?

Didn't play last season had other committments.
Played against Park Orchards the previous year, with St Davids we won comfortably. Might have a hit this year not sure at this stage though.
Have lots of mates at a few different clubs in that grade.
Good even comp.

Get on really well with Tuitey unfortunately don't catch up with him enough these days. I know Kaylock to say Gday too & have a beer with.
Is the deaf guy still playing with you blokes, he could hit a ball?

Ahh yeah i played in that St.Davids match. I think you guys were 1/200 at tea or something like that. Bald headed guy hit a ton? or close to it.

We had the Sri Lankan spinner in that game. Missed him last year.

Yeah McIntyre (deaf guy) played in the lower grades last year. Wanted to give others a go in the higher grades. He retired at the end of the year to look after his kids which is a pity. One of the biggest hitters i've seen in local cricket.

Cain Harper just missed out on a premiership i see. We don't get on well with Blackburn South so it was nice to see. :)

St.Davids smashed us last season as well. Beat us by 8 wickets...don't have a great record against them at all.

Yeah he hit a ton. I got him over the line (thats my story anyway) & then went out last ball of the day. Hit the Lankan for one 6 but I think he got me, the kid has a bit of potential though. Won't mention my bowling the next week lets just say I was well under the weather.

No one gets on well with them. Harps is one of my best mates, I spent a bit of time down with them last season & they are actually OK when you get to know them. Always entertaining club to have a look at. Last time I played them though the umpires had to separate us coming of the field, very ironic Harps ended up going their. They wanted to kill him that day & to be honest their was quite a few of us prepared to accomodate them.

PS. You weren't the bloke that was wearing the Park Orchards shirt at the GF last season, giving a bit of lip? :D

Yep i was one of those guys giving the keeper (Webby) a mouthful. After Blacky South beat us in the semi, the keeper called the club and had a fair dig at a few of our players on some pretty sensative stuff. So we gave it back. Was quite funy watching them disintegrate.

I was the off spinner that day at St.Davids only bowled about 10 overs i think....can't remember how i went with the bat....

I get on pretty well with Stevie Alderton. He's a pretty decent bloke. Word has it he is on his way to Kilsyth for a truck load of cash....

You got the mail on Stevie right, he's off to Kilsyth for plenty.
Had a beer with him a few weeks ago.
Not suprised to hear that about Webby, I get on well with him now I know him better, but as I said the year before well....... & they really did disinegrate in the big one. Always nice to have a score on the board.

Interesting to see Koonung Heights go in Shield, not exactly the youngest side around.

The only other info I can give you is that Marc Albiston & Sam Noble from Doncaster are off to Box Hill, Andrew Crawford is having a year off, & their coach for a season Robinson will not be reappointed. Leaves a fair hole.

No doubt A1 will continue to be an even comp next season.

I've just heard that Steve hasn't signed yet apparently...not sure what would be stopping him?

Yeah getting a score on the board in a grand final is a must. We won A2 and the A1 in two successive years and posted big scores in both of them.

In A2 Blackburn North were undefeated all year, we batted first and were 3/8 and ended up all out 355. Bowled Blackburn North out for 78.

In A1 we hit 296 against Mulgrave CC and kept them to abhout 200.

The year in Sheild we had 1 win....against Blackburn who won the premiership and we went straight back down....it was a bit of an eye opener up there against the likes of the Cullens, Vozzos and Boxes.

Have Koonung Heights definately said they are going up? There was a whisper around that they were going to stay in A1 and Black Sth go up....i can't see why you wouldn't want to go up to shield tho...

Doncaster will struggle a bit next year unless they recruit...their 2's were full of young kids when we played them last season.
