How the boys at Newtown going this year. I used to play for them. Who is playing well? How big of a loss was Jay Bett. Im for the Mallee and I see that he has broken in arm.
 
any thought on wat the bfl ladder might end up looking like?? Thoughts on Ocean Grove and modewarre??

Looks like there a realistically 7 teams that could win the flag which is great for the league. Any team in that seven can beat another on any given day. The flag chances are
Geelong Amateur
Newcomb
Modewarre
Barwon Heads
Torquay
Drysdale
Ocean Grove

I believe Ocean Grove and Modda cant win it. Torquay maybe not. But if the other 4 its anyones. Top spot on the ladder could prove cricial. With Ammos there at the minute.

My tip for the flag, Geelong Amateurs of course, over Newcomb or Heads.

Its a tough one to call.

yeh its good for the league..makes this weekends game between Ocean Grove and Torquay a big match.. Should also be good games to watch all 3 grades in contention for the final three if the weather clears up and stays fine..:)

I've actually heard Kooley that a very talented youngster

from Werribee Centrals was reported last night for twelve months for kicking

Nick Maheras from Thompson on Saturday. His name I think is Travis Ryan

and the word is he was having an exceptional year having kicked a couple

bags of 8.

Hilly... They, if they do get up, would've bought themselves a flag. No point in doing that because the guys they bought (Plowman, Hughes, O'Brien etc) will all pi*s off within the next two years. Barwon Heads arent that financially strong, it's just that they have been saving for the past few years and will fall flat on their face in the coming years. Geoff Miles is a good president but come on, how good is it to really win a premiership when they have pretty much bought it.

Poor guy, if ur facts are right, Maheras, is just one of those players that just gets on my nerves, talented player, good captain, but I just dont like him...
 
Who really knows what happened on saturday against Joeys and Colac!? Seems like no-one does. Carson comes out and says it was a cheap shot, a king hit from behind play and the ball was at the other end of the ground! Greavesy then comes out and said it in complete contrast! Could be a hefty suspension coming up for the Joeys boy becasue the guy from Barwon Heads last year got 18 weeks for king hitting an Ammos guy and then this year Giles from Bannockburn got 8 weeks for similar situation... Anyone there for the inncident?

I actually was playing in that game (for Ammos) it was one of the most disgracful things i have ever see, sickening. The offender actually was charged by police and was found guilty and rightly so. No place for that sort of stuff on the footy feild.

Too true. Blokes reckon since they are on the footy field and smack a bloke that it will be alright because of the surroundings. Bugger that. You king hit some one in a game of footy and do damage like that, too right you should get charged by the police. I'm not saying the joeys bloke should get charged also cos no-one knows what happened.. however, everyone seems to be in support of Carson (Colac player).

I think he might be playing for Ocean Grove. Saw them play a couple of weeks ago and do recall him as he was playing reasonably well. Thats about all i know. I hope thats who you are talking about.

Yeh matty perry is goin alrite when he is on the park.. has has a hamstring injury and now his achilles which is a bit stiff but he is goin alrite otherwise..Him and matt sproule keep bringin mates from melton south down for a game which can be good sumtimes.....cheers
 
the is a youngg boy at newtown with the surname hill. very good player.
wont be suprised if he takes out the matherson medel this year.
 
Are Leopold a genuine chance of making the finals this year and if so, are they capble of doing any damage? Been following their results and notice the improvement. What has caused this? Apart from the fact that Browny and Cam Wright are guns and have returned.
