Is Greg Stewart still having a kick over that way? He'd be getting on a bit so he may have retired. Very good, hard, honest backman!

Stewy played his first game for the season in the 2nds on Saturday. He retired at the end of last season but has come back to have a run in the 2nds with a mate. He may have found his niche up forward; kicked 4 from full forward and was one of Marong's best.

You would assume that stewy would be automatic recall into the ones now, very tough footballer, any chance of murph helping out as well

Does he still need a big stick to keep the women away?

Stewy is lining up in the two's again. He doesn't want to play seniors. There is no doubt he would be straight in though, a tough defender is what we need right now.....and a full forward, full back, CHF; the list goes on!

How is Brent Dyer going at Newbridge? I know they are on top, but is this due to his coaching or simply the personnel brought in this season?

They have only been challenged 3 times this season really. Twice by a terribly under-manned Calivil and fell over the line each time, and once by Pyramid and got belted. Does he have a plan B at all or is it just Plan A. Kick it long and hope for the best.......

Well Mitiamo keep surprising. A win yesty saw Wicksy celebrate his 200th in style. Hopefully they can keep their 2nd position. Calivil drop to 3rd now, with Bridgy still in touch despite their loss yesty to Newbridge. Well done to Marong for their first win of the season. Any details of this match...?

any thoughts on the best players to grace the LVFl over the past 5 years
Phil Hetherington would have to be number 1
Comer 2
Milner 3
McCormick 4
Billy Hewitt 5
any thoughts

The top 4 all have their arguments for them but your number 5 Billy Hewitt is a terrible call....

If he put down his watermelons he carries under his arms he might play a bit better...

As you could probably imagine, the game between last and second last on the ladder was never going to be of the highest standard. Inglewood managed to kick 1 or 2 more for each of the first 3 quarters to hold a 4 goal lead at 3/4 time. With Marong needing to double their score in the last to have any chance of winning, there didn't appear much hope. Brad McCormick, Mark Sudweeks and Charlie Thompson dominated the last quarter and Marong got their nose in front very late in the quarter. Leigh Lamprell had a difficult shot after the siren to win the game for Inglewood but couldn't put it through.

At least Marong are safe from the embarassment of going through the season winless.

Surely Wayne Landry has to be up near the top.

Although he only played a handful of games for Marong, a bloke by the name of Dave Lancaster could play a bit.

Unfortunately due to his 'loose' personality and love of the Collingwood Football Club, we didn't see Sam Milner at his best anywhere near enough. The space in front of him when he leads from full forward is not a very safe place for a backman to stand.

was dave lancaster the solid bloke who used to walk around looking at his arms adoring himself, is brendon blandford still playing for marong

Pyramid Hill may be very weak next season due to a lot of their players apparently leaving in Gav James,David Mann,Nick Marchesani,Trav Thatcher and Matt Chilcott all apparently showing interest in heading to the Cohuna Kangas where former Pyramid star Paul 'The Bible' Carmody is playing. This is a very strong rumour from a reliable source.

he told me sat night he had hurt his wrist and will most likely be back after there bye in two weeks....didnt affect his smashing of red bull and vodka at the star bar though....
It's actually his thumb that was badly broken last year...but ur right the boy loves his red bull & vodka!!:p

I think you might be referring to Dave Sullivan. Blankets hung up the boots at the end of last season and is the runner this year.
