i know your getting excited by more young talent that we are chasing and probably by this weeks trio of debutants but sorry mate i dont think thats our 14yr old recruit Thomas Young. I think that in fact is our 16yr old recruit Scott Reed.

i think there will be a club or two that get into a sh*t load of throuble for bending the rules... like the college teams in america that used secretly pay/buy juniors to entice them to their team.

i doubt we would do this in an obvious way.. we would make the familes an offer they couldnt refuse.

Yes.

I also think there will be much debate that our Premiership is tainted due to us getting Reed for nothing, or buying him a trip to Disneyland (allegedly).
Good... because I will spray Brisbane, Essendon and Carlton supporters like they were being hosed down in the big house

I'm lead to believe we got one who is 14, and one who is 16. They're fair talents in the system, and thats why everyone's in a **** with us.

I wouldn't be surprised if we offered them something under the table, the opportunity of a contract if they impress.. etc, maybe a bit more. Clubs have lawyers, attorney's etc... this would've been discussed.

And leave them sleeping with the fishes if they do?

how do these guys come to be on our list?

do they just go onto our senior list (if we choose) when they are of draft age or do we have to use a draft pick on them?

Well, technically, just adding them to our list IS using our last draft pick on them.

By doing that, it means that we don't have our last national draft pick, whatever number that would have ended up being - You can have as many draft picks as you want, limited only by the number of vacancies on your list. Remove one of the vacancies by adding a NSW Scholarship kid, and you lose the latest draft pick that you had.

Not sure how it will be written up, but I would assume it would be similar to a rookie list elevation, where the senior list spot is just given to the player without them having to actually formally be selected with a draft pick.

can scott reed play next year at the age of 17 or not?
No - He's too young to enter the draft this year, which means that he won't be drafted until the end of the 2008 season, making 2009 his first year on Collingwood's list.

Get the parents contestant spots on Temptation or 1 vs 100 and offer the kid free booze at Channel 9 parties.

Too easy!

I played against this kid we lost the preliminary final by one point against his team Bateau Bay. When played against him he was very cocky but I think his attitude is changing though. If he good enough good luck to him and Dad will be like oh Scotty Reed his a far player remember when you played against him John lol

well his team lost but to be honest Bateau were pretty much a one man team with him in the ruck so yeah..

Damn, if he was any good he could have tapped it to himself before bombing it into the 50 and taking a contested hanger then checksiding it through from 50. Nevermind.
