Despite his uncanny resemblence to the English batsman, I thought the rangy, lead up forward, quick closing speed game Sellar played last night had some Franklinesque moments.

Everyone's saying he played well but isn't ready for regular AFL games because of his age. Isn't form a better indicator than age? I'd bet he'd be in Port's lineup round 1 if they had him.

After watching the game from Dubai, I was blown away from Seller's performance. He was outstanding. Looked at home at CHF!

Being a Collingwood supporter, I just hope he doesn't get that much better than Reid or Brown who we selected in front of him in the 06 draft.

I was also impressed with your young ruckman Tippett!!

Sellar certainly looked impressive for a first game, particularly playing at CHF. He presented well, took some good marks and also looked pretty mobile for a big man. He has a big body for an 18 year old.
He'll play all the NAB cup games and if he keeps playing like that then I'd play him round 1 for sure. Especially if we're going to have the experience of Goody, Edwards or Macca up forward too.

It will be interesting what the talk will be if Sellar does become a star CHF re Sellar vs Boak - esp if Boak becomes a star who ends up going back to Geelong in 2 years. I'm sure Rucci will ignore it and keep rehashing the Dangerfield vs Ebert one. There certainly wasn't as much uproar about Port picking Boak over Sellar as there has been about Dangerfield over Ebert.
