Traded Luke Dunstan

Congrats to the kid, so much to love about the way this kid has started his career and goes about his footy in general. We needed a first year "ready-to-go" player like this, has been ages since we had one. I want him to be our Ollie Wines and he has made a great start.

Imagine what he’ll do when he gets some games at senior level (um he has got that, played seniors SANFL) and a big body (got that too) and footy smarts and a good head on his shoulders ( yes, we’re talking about Luke Dunstan…) and maybe after 30 or so games he’ll show some leadership qualities ( sorry, are you listening? – LUKE DUNSTAN, captained SA) and then throw in a bit of character, modesty, work ethic and a will to succeed (ok, signing off- he’s a gun.) ;)

Congrats Luke. Hope you get the 7 when Lenny decides it is time. And very well done recruiters.:thumbsu:

( and, as a dad, congrats to the kids' parents- seems a really level headed young man)

I think the only thing better than Dunstan winning and myself having $$ on him for the Rising Star is then getting a tweet favourited from big Spencer White when replying to Tom Hickey's tweet.

I love this football club.

The way Dunstan plays its only a matter of time until Lenny Hayes says to him....

$34 only a couple of weeks ago, TheLastEmperor hope you got your bet on!

Nice reward for the cracking kid.

(hopefully Joe Daniher and Brodie Grundy tear their vagina muscles and miss several weeks)

I got on for $10 @ 34, he and Aish.

Congrats on the win guys.

I remember this guy being talked as a top 2 pick early on last year, picking him up as late as you guys did looked like a steal to me at the time and he certainly proved that from the get go. Could be the Nat Fyfe of this draft. Well done to him, well deserved.

This rings a bell. I swear we had a thread up early last year asking who we'd prefer - Dunstan or Boyd. A number of people said Dunstan heh. Would be an interesting read.

Dunstan won the raffle there. What a perfect match up for him, having Lenny as a buddy. Anyone want to hazard a stab at making a list of the new recruits and who you think their Senior player buddy is?

After the match, it was nice to see that the club had invited the parents (of the debutantes) back into rooms to experience the atmosphere. This is a nice touch - I've seen them do it before but I wanted to comment on it. The parents have given up a LOT to bring their kid to the point where he finally makes it. Treating them like royalty on the night that their son debuts. I believe they watch from a corporate box and are brought into the change rooms to see them singing the song (or not - if we lose).

This is a great initiative by the club - it helps make the parents of the players feel rewarded for all their sacrifice. I personally think that we forget how much the parents have invested in their kids. It doesn't stop when they leave home. Parents still want to be a part of their kids' lives.

Kudos to the club

Actually had the chance to meet Luke at the Road to 2018 function couple of weeks ago, kid is down to earth and loves a chat.
May also have a sneaky bet on him at 34-1 too.
