With all due respect Sam, and you have done a great job, but it is time to move over and let Luke have what is rightfully his - the captaincy.

Accepting the flag would not be right without Hodgey being the one to hold the cup.

MAKE IT HAPPEN!
 
They will share the cup.


The team is doing just fine as it is..... Captaincy does funny things to some players, and it is working for us at the moment.

even mitch and hodgey have conceeded that they share the responsibilities and one is a better leader on field and the other is better with the off-field administrative duties.
Seems to be going ok at the moment, if it ain't broke don't fix it?????
 
Have we not done this thread a few times already?? :eek: (In particular after a loss)

Sammy is the Capt, the club made the call, fair chance they have some good reasons behind this.

Lets get behind the decision (especially with where we are right now) and support the club/captain.
 
:(If ever there was a case for Co-Captaincy this was it. These two would have happily shared it for years....Pity because Hodgey is the team inspiration. True Hawk shinboner and class act, goalkicker, midfielder, backman etc etc.

Just ...... relax aye! as i said earlier, its a title. do you think the Rudd the Dudd actually runs the country??? or does George Bush run the US of A???? the real leaders know who they are and the team knows who to follow at the appropriate time.

Must also add, that apart from me, young hodgey may just be the best thing to come out of that little country town called colac.

Sorry, I have to disagree with what you stated.
Sam Mitchell deserves our captaincy and I think its completely wrong to say 'Mitch - move over'. Why? Dont get me wrong, I love Hodgey but does it really matter who our captain is? Mitch is alot fairer and disciplined than Hodge and suits the role of captain IMHO. Yes, Mitch isnt in top form but thats not to say Hodge deserves it more.

Dont blast me for it but I feel as though people are being extremely stupid saying Mitch shouldnt be captain.

This coming from someone who thinks Judd is good :rolleyes: I guess it's easy for a Carlton supporter to think Hodge gets the ball on his own all the time .. because when he plays Carlton he has nobody to beat.

There are many stupid comments posted on Big Footy but I think that this has to take the cake.. Easily the best player on the ground tonight and once again proved why he was taken number one over ( 30 possesions but zero influnece on the game) Judd!

Totally disagree,

Hodge is a gun though he is not captain material at this stage. He drops his head too often, his body language is not positive for my liking and from what I understand his off field behaviour leaves a bit to be desired. Mitchell is a much much better choice of skipper at the moment.
 
I agree Hodge would be an excellent captain but I was watching On the Couch earlier in the year and they had Scott Burns on who made a good point when they asked him about the Collingwood captaincy.

He said that most supporters only get to see the players for about 50 hours or so by watching the footy during the season whereas the players might spend that amount of time with each other in a week or two. He referenced the fact that they went to South Africa for a training camp and clocked up 50 hours spent together on the plane.

So while Hodge is one of the best on-field leaders in the competition, Mitch's captaincy selection would have been based on the others things he does at training, team meetings etc that not everyone gets to see.
 
What a load of crap they have worked great all year with Mitchell as captain & Hodge as vice Captain on the verge of what could be one of the greatness years in our history as a club & we should change the Captaincy ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha LMFAO!:confused::rolleyes:

Agreed mate.

We hear this idea at strange times, but this has gotta be one of the weirdest....just finished 2nd on the ladder, team is looking good and lets consider changing the leadership??:confused:
