Not sure you can draw any conclusions on his form when Jordan Dawson and Izak Rankine are playing like shit too

We have these high hopes for all our 1st round picks and they rarely ever deliver
Pretty hard to when we refuse to play them where they’re strongest and for a decent amount of games as well.
Nicks should have been playing Pedlar and Rachele in the midfield as much as their bodies would allow, give them a rest then back in there. If he had done that for the last two years we would see if they have what it takes or not. If they do they would be gun players now instead of looking like disinterested headless chooks.

Everyone thought these guys would be becoming a big part of our midfield this year and Nicks has gone back to 2020 levels of team structure.
I don't understand why Nicks has gone away from this progression with our key young guys but it's not looking good
The club just cant trust the young guys to take the club forward, it's been ingrained for years

He’s a gutless coach. He’s pushing for finals and thinks his experienced duds will get the job done instead of the inexperienced youth.
Why is so hard to find a coach that has the balls to make the decisions and tell the older players when their time is up or that they don’t actually run the club no matter how much they whinge to the media? Oh that’s right the board and in particular Roosh1to likes yes men they can control.

Controversial opinion: His main deficit is between the ears and he may never be a great player because of it.

Really hope he can build his confidence to hold onto the ball for a split second longer to select an appropriate target for each disposal... Lots to like, but his hard ball get followed by random handball directly to opponent 10m away from the pack is an issue he needs to sort.

I'm hoping it's just nerves and with a bit of experience and confidence he learns to slow down a tiny bit and become very good.
Back when everyone was drinking Luke's bathwater I wrote this.

I am not proud to admit it, but I was wrong.

Confidence/working on slowing things down so his body can catch up to his brain was not his main issue. Slowing down has actually exacerbated the decision-making problems. His previous issue of regurgitating the ball to a 50:50 was much better than taking his time to pinpoint the exact worst option, which is what he's doing now.

WTF has happened to so many between last season and this? I'm particularly concerned about Pedlar and Rachelle. Both showed such promise and this season so far neither one could get a kick in a stable.
Has Nicks lost the players?
No one is playing for the team or their team mates.

Nicks and (when he is dropped) Godden will go out of their way to ruin Peds with defensive forward talk gobbledygook... like they almost did with Jones, Fog - and then Schoey & Berry (jury is out, they may be terminal cases). Who's next? Rankine? Rachelle? Max? It's rubbish coaching and a rubbish system they are trying to preach. We are back to 2020 levels of a bad game plan, and players who do not believe in it. For a good reason, it's a big, steaming, soft, mushy, brown idea of a scheme our "brains" of a coaching staff are trying to implement.

This guys not even playing well in the SANFL. I'm inclined to think it's attitude related if he can't get himself fit enough. Needs a huge pre season.

I thought he was set for a big 2024 and one of our most exciting prospects...

Playing with dislocated shoulder - maybe confidence is down while he sees how it goes?

I reckon he will be mothballed soon and in for an op.

Can someone tell me WTF is going on with this guy?

Is he ever going to get midfield time?

Why can't he make the team ahead of lemmings like McHenry and Murphy?

Is he still injured? If so, why is he still playing?

He's halfway through his 4th season on the list FFS. He shouldn't be on the fringes by now.
