I’ll be very disappointed in the Richmond cheer squad if they aren’t already writing their banner for Round 1.

I’d suggest

THIS YEAR COULD BE TOUGH
BUT WE’RE GLAD TO BE BACK
IF WE EMBARRASS OURSELVES
WE’LL SAY WE WERE HACKED
to be fair I don't think our cheer squad is savvy enough to pull that off. Would be funny though

Hacked in this instance wouldn't be Russian or North Korean folks, it'll be either his wife or someone else who has access to his phone/iCloud (he's a multi multi millionaire, there'd be several staff members who assist him with things that would likely know his passwords) and has an axe to grind.

Or, given both of them are 'inactive' on X, Luke and BUPA communicated via that medium as a way to avoid detection and he's had a few too many Chianti's and ****ed up.

Either or!

If you give your wife your password you've not been hacked. You also don't talk about going after the person that 'did this to my family', when you know it's your family that did it to itself.
It's bullshit. He posted it.

If there’s no action by the AFL we should start a bigfooty change petition and keep it in the public eye. So much double standards at the boys club when it comes to how these incidents are handled.

it's an inverted commas 'hacked', not a literal 'hacked'.

Would be hilarious but when Carlton tried something similar on us we won 3 out of 4 flags. Not sure I'd want to risk the reverse 😬

Agreed. And I'd suggest the last two lines of Bunk Moreland 's suggestion could be tweaked thusly.

"IF WE EMBARRASS OURSELVES THEY'LL BE EMBARRASSED
WE’LL AND SAY WE THEY WERE HACKED"
Each letter will be a collage of multiple copies of the tweet

X DMs dre pretty decent way to hide an affair imo.
It means you don't need to keep the other person's contact details in your phone and don't need to follow anyone online anywhere. As.long as U tidy the DM box there is no evidence whatsoever of a connection.

The best ever was the US General who set up a Hotmail/Yahoo account and gave his mistress the password. They would communicate via a saved email in the draft folder, and no comms would ever be sent.

Yeah Petraeus. I recall them saying it was a well known trick for anyone who really, really needed to keep their correspondence private (including terror cells)

Draft folder would be interesting

Nearly a week on and I reckon the two major issues are:

  1. The likely breach of Carlton's conflicts policy by having a relationship with a senior figure at a sponsor (and the same breach is committed by her); and
  2. The fact that the photo undermines his credibility and is embarrassing.

This is premised on my belief the must have been carrying on a consensual exchange of some kind. That is my belief. I do not think he would be so stupid as to do that completely unsolicited.

Point 1 is a real problem in a professional sense, and is a problem irrespective of whether the relationship ever became public. It alone is probably sufficient to ask him to move on.

Point 2 speaks for itself. He looks like a dumbass for getting caught like this.

Is this a respect for women issue? I am not convinced that by default infidelity is a respect issue. If so, should every player who cheats on his other half be punished as well? IMO the infidelity element sits outside the regular "boys club" criticisms. In general we do not ever know what goes on within other people's relationships.

Happy to be convinced otherwise though.

Very balanced and rational analysis, non-ideological. I get tired in 2025 of every issue somehow being contorted into something it isn't. I think this defines the issue as we know it currently well.
