On a more serious note...
MATCH Review Panel chairman Mark Fraser has criticised Quentin Lynch for his hit on Scott McMahon, saying the Eagle forward could have broken McMahon's back by jumping into him at a marking contest.

Lynch has been offered a one-week suspension for charging McMahon in West Coast's win on Sunday afternoon.

Fraser said Lynch had been reckless in his contact with the North Melbourne defender.

"We believe that's breaching a duty of care as a player. If you go into a contest knees first like that, even though there is an attempt to hit the ball over there. We think that's worthy of charging," Fraser told AFL.com.au.

"It does have the potential in the worst case scenario that you break somebody's back. It was a very forceful hit and we believe that's a charge."

And yet it is rated low impact?
If McMahon had not bravely got up and played on (say done the Mitch Robinson and lay on the ground for 30 seconds after colliding with Sam Wright) the impact is then higher?
Just further proof the system is shot, I would have thought.

Clearly the Q stick had no alternative other than to deliberately sink his knee into Loose's back while making no realistic attempt to take possession of the ball and with eyes on the player. I understand the rule quite clearly now.

Disappointing no-one flew the flag.

guys, as an impartial observer of the game on the weekend (even though the Weagles are coming over here for the pies) i thought Lynch was lucky to get one. He has form from memory. Jesse Smith? He led with the knew knowing full well what was going to happen. Should've got two. If any weagles supporters are thinking im being being biased, Maxwell was stupid. Deserved what he got and i wouldve been disappointed if the pies contested the charge.
Good luck to North for next year.

I don't think Lynch deserved a suspension. Eyes on the ball and even tried to spoil the ball, was only marginally late.

BTW I don't think Ziebells deserved a suspension either. Yes the MRP is inconsistent but I think the QStick one was right

Hopefully Hansen and Tarrant have a look at that and see what is required to bust packs open. Personally, I'm ok with Lynch getting off. McMahon deserved 50 though - did he get that? The Ziebell suspension was farcical, yes.

Who invited the peanut gallery?

Sorry, I had a perfect view of the incident and there is no doubt in my mind what happened, and I don't believe it was a legitimate marking attempt.

You're on the West Coast board, show some respect.

Lynch is a powerforward and is one of the biggest and strongest players in the comp. So if he has eyes on the footy and tries to take a speccy how does that derseve a suspension.
It wouldn't but he didn't.
