Main board...

It's quite obvious that it's open season on Hawthorn supporters on the main board, as it has been for a while.

Whether some of us are responsible is a moot point; for every gloating Hawk in 2008, there was a snide Geelong or Essendon supporter who had been giving us shit all year. But other fans might see it differently..

Anyways..

It seems there is a lot of hatred there towards us.

My advice, which is hard, is don't get sucked in by the trolling.

Keep your head up, admit the better team won when we lose, don't make proclaimation of how we will win the flag, don't fall down to their level when we win.

Give them cliches, give them nothing.

Don't complain, don't explain. No excuses. When we lose, the better team won. Ignore umpiring. Talk about the opposition's injuries, not ours

If nothing else, it will make them angry. They want to shit stir, they want us to say stupid things. The more we can hold our heads up, the more pathetic they look trying to bring us down.

It's hard when so many take such joy in our losses, and, even worse, our injuries, but we can do it.

And think how sweet it will be if it all comes together this year.

Good thread eldarado - a spate of hawk supporters talking up the doggies win seems to have derailed it.

Thought that would occur on the north board - shameful display really but you would expect nothing less

Why would we care less what those idiots from other clubs think of us? Rest assured, the saints, cats, etc, are all hoping like hell that the Hawks fail so they don't have to meet us in the finals. We are everyone's worst nightmare .. we know it, they know it. Just think of the pleasure if/when we defeat those nuff nuffs later in the season.

Actually mate, its one thread with 12 (at time of posting) replies, the majority of which say the thread is poor form or are simply of the view that trading Gibbo to you allowed us to get Bastinac so we don't care either way. It's hardly a party at Josh's expense.

On topic:

The main board goes through stages where one or more teams seem to cop it relentlessly. You'll recall we copped it for so long we did the 'Should have gone to the Gold Coast' thing.

I'm going to be as careful as I can when I say this but elements - not all - of the Hawthorn support have had no problems rubbing people's noses in it when you won, especially 08, so you have to expect that when you're down, people will be keen to return the favour. I'd also suggest that continually referring to 08 doesn't help your cause.

But at the end of the day, its round 3, you've still got absolute class in your side, some class to come in and you've played two of the best sides in the comp the last two weeks and given them both a fair old shake.

Hardly the time for panic stations I would have thought.

And how does that make us any different to anyone else on this forum? Don't talk to us about copping it when you're down, we copped it on this forum for years from the mid 90s to 2007 ... remember 2007?

Were you here the night the Roos defeated Hawthorn in the finals? The behaviour of North supporters that evening, especially on the HAWTHORN Board was a disgrace, the worst I've ever seen.

So don't start crapping on about how bad the Hawks people are on BigFooty ... in 2008 we were just giving back what we had taken for so very long. Surely North should be able to understand that.
