Hi guys...

Just writing to say i had a call from the club today (well i hope it was) regarding this years major raffle..
Totally different to previous years...they are only offereing 1500 tickets at $200 each. 1st prize was $30,000 and then the prizes gradually go down in money value and then there are heaps of consolation prizes of signed gear and stuff.

Anyone else get the call today??

i really hope you did...my brother has me scared that i've been scammed and my account will be empty within a matter of days!!!

NO but an interesting way to go. I used to buy a whole book at $5 which was $50 all up but $200 at ticket, I will leave that to Smorgo and the like to buy those, too rich for me

I got the call last Fri, had to decline, they said they'd try again later in the year in case I've changed my mind. $200 is a bridge too far at the moment, and probably will be then as well.

I prefer the raffle book option, FWIW.

I wish them luck.;)

They are only offering 1,500 tickets at $200 for a first prize of $30,000 and then a lot of consolation prizes. What do you guys expect to pay? This is a fund raiser for the club remember.

There's a massive gap between $5 a ticket and $200 a ticket. Why not sell half the number of tickets we have members @ $20 a ticket and have smaller prizes?

You can't ask people to fork out $200 for a membership and then tell them that the raffle they've bought tickets in for the last 20 years is now $200 a ticket. You exclude so many people?!

I just got the call as I was opening this forum. I had to decline as spending $200 on a raffle ticket ould cause ructions with my marriage. So the club is sending me info about the raffle.
