Lebron has already won his last ring.
Just on this, how many rings do people think LeBron will end up with? I have this weird feeling he'll win his 6th in his last game. He'll maybe win one or two more as the #1, and then will win his 6th as either a #2 to Kyrie or whomever, or like a 1.a./b. idk

I'm sure he will be some years after Lebron retires.
As good as LeBron? Are you nuts?

The only area Kyrie will probably see an improvement in is scoring. Even so LeBron was putting up 27-30ppg for years while being highly efficient in some truly dire Cavs teams. I find it incredibly hard to believe Kyrie with his size and skill set is capable of putting up similar sorts of numbers and that being the best way to benefit his team. There's only been 23 player seasons in NBA history from 11 different players 6'4 or below putting up 25ppg. If he was to put up those sorts of numbers for a few years, it would most likely be on some pretty average efficiency numbers which isn't what you really want.

Then there is his passing where he is miles behind LeBron. He just doesn't see the court as well and LeBron and many superior passing guards do. He's already in season six, very hard to see a massive uptick in assist numbers, even with LeBron gone. We had plenty of time to see him on his own before LeBron got there, and his passing numbers were still the same. Yes he had some pretty shoddy teammates, but so did LeBron and he excelled there in Cleveland.

Rebounding wise he'll never impact the game either for obvious reasons.

Lastly there is defence, and if anyone thinks Kyrie can ever get close to LeBron's impact defensively they should never watch basketball again.

The overrating of Irving on this website seems to continue. He's a decent scorer, very suitable second option to LeBron but that's it. Nothing about him screams future world number one player. He's one-dimensional and when discussing in the context of being a future MVP and world beater like plenty predict him to be, that's always going to hold him back.

I said after Lebron retires dude. Lebron will be averaging 0/0/0 on N.A FG% as a retiree. :)

Paying a legend of a club, when he has often taken less than max during his prime, is a different story than a team picking up 35 year old that can't give you more than 70 games a year.
Pat knew what he was doing. Walked the bloke out of Miami, then played dumb as f*** about it. Said it was all his fault. You see this Shaq jersey retirement and it's clear what we were doing. Willing to deal with the short term loss of face knowing we can mend the bridge, all the while not signing ourselves onto the Kobe deal.

Just on what you were saying, yeh i'd have loved to have kept him. He's why i love b ball and the Heat. LBJ, Bosh and DWade all had their way with the franchise by pushing for the 5th year when they were always opting out. It's no coincidence that the success stopped when the sacrifices stopped and the players started gunning for cash. That's their right, but it's the team's right not to pay it. It's easy to demand your coin at the end of all this sacrifice, but it's not like the sacrifices didn't help the individuals as much as if not more than the team.

8:37 of this video Riley cryptically defends himself for letting Wade go.

But all will be well, he'll retire a Heat legend, he'll return to good terms with the franchise (in reality terms are ok now anyway), and as long as we make everyone who plays for us better, the brief loss of face will mean very little.

Sixers make playoffs and beat Cavs 1st round, with Simmons averaging a triple-double through the playoffs.
