Competitions Make Your Own Team - Carlton Board AFL Player Draft Game

Greetings all! I thought I'd organise something to pass time in the off season.

The rules are simple...

In a nice orderly fashion, participants will have free reign to pick any player they like, from any team, to create their own hypothetical 23 man team. Once a player is selected, they'll no longer be available to other players to select, so no double ups!

The order of selections will be decided once we have the necessary number of players, which will be 18 to mirror the AFL set up. I'll post the order once everyone has entered in.

As players go through their selections they can create a team sheet to update so its easy for everyone to keep up with who's off the board and how their team is shaping up!

I'll put my name down as one, so need 17 others to get things rolling!

I don't do a lot of fantasy drafting, but I assume we'd use a 'snake method' to pick players.

I can make a quick random number generator to choose the order if necessary.

Essentially. I'll do a random order generator with the people involved and then it will just go round and round repeating the same order until everyone's completed their teams.

Currently doing a spreadsheet for this because I'm weirdly competitive with these things lol. It's interesting seeing how many players from different teams make the cut. Tells you a bit about how next season might play out. For example, 25 Lions to 12 Bombers.

Last time I was in something like this, it was pretty much just an opinion poll on which one was the best. It's pretty subjective. Depends on the criteria. Are you building a list for right now, or sustainable success and balance?

I hope it's not something that's going to end up a negative shitfight about differing opinions.

One other thing that needs to be done is that each round is reverse order of the previous round.

1-18, 18-1, 1-18 etc. This makes things equal.
