Good on him. That draft is slowly turning into a nightmare for us with Everitt and Harbrow getting games elsewhere (not always for Everitt) and Hill and Stack out of the side. From what I understand Lynch was a good kid so hope he gets another crack. There was another article in the Hun a while back so he's on the radar.

Would consider as a rookie. I saw him play a few times and he had nice skills, great pace and good defensive instincts. Not the hardest player to ever play the game but it was injuries more than anything else that ended him. If he can now stay on the park I think he could be a handy player.

Why not?

Already has roots at the club, has shown tremendous heart to improve so much, and is clearly showing more than Stack or Hill (comparing him to blokes taken at similar picks). I don't reckon it would happen but the talent that existed when we drafted him has clearly been backed up by a lot of determination.

Would be an unusual case but if his form continues he'd make a great pickup, and best of all he fills a hole on our list.

That said you'd imagine Gold Coast would be interested and possibly GWS too if his form continues.

Been there, done that, didn't work, move on. I hope he gets a second crack and makes it, but I doubt it would be back at the Doggies.

Hill and Stack have done something Lynch didn't, and that's actually play in the seniors (Lynch two games only from memory).

I still think Hill and Stack can make significant contributions. Hill's problems seeem to be between the ears. He's got all the skills to be a good footballer, but he's got to be consistent in his approach to each contest. Needs to absolutely put the whole lot on the line in his attitude, say "I absolutely single-mindedly want to be an AFL footballer" and approach every training session and match like it's going to be his last chance. Maybe he should follow Picken around for a month. I still have hope for Hill but one thing is for sure, if he gets another chance in the seniors he needs to make it stick (and I'm talking with his appetite for the contest) or his time at the Dogs will be over.

Stack's first season as a defender and has had some soft tissue injuries which have probably kept him out of the side. There's going to be opportunities there, just needs to mature in his decision making but he's got strength, pace and good skills, decision making is probably what let him down sometimes. Worth one more season I reckon just to see if he can elevate his game to the level required. Most of these picks were late 2nd to 4th round picks, very few times you get ready made players, they take some time, sometimes even 4 or 5 seasons before they mature.
