Really though what determines a prize recruit at Carlton?

They've recently used number 1 draft picks on a back pocket tagger and a guy who's only role on the field as far as I can tell is to provide acne.

Squibs is NOT a tagger. Taggers have to be tough talentless & be able to take it as well as dish it out. Squibs is a the very opposite of a tagger, a soft talented princess.

Given you've included Keefe, let's go carte blanche ...

... that's not even all of them and we're already over 160 games.

So yeah ... nice try

I've seen that list before somewhere o_O

That's it now I've got it, that's the list of spuds available at the local veggie market.

The only loser here is Chokingwood, 5 years for a money hungry self indulged mut.

All clokes start their downward spiral after 25.

Love it.

What?

Carlton won't overspend on an inaccurate forward who goes missing when a decent defender lines up on him?

The same guy who is Collingwood's leading contested marking player who runs up the ground 120 metres away from his goal and boots it high in to the sky for...Chris Dawes? lol...to mark.

How will Malthouse or Carlton cope?

Well, plan B is Quentin Lynch and Jarrad (Jared?) Waite. So most likely not well.

So are Keefe, Macaffer, Sinclair, Toovey and Goldsack all included in your best 22 are they?

There's no doubt a guy like Sam Rowe would have played games with the injury list the Blues had. Shit, Levi Casboult was elevated off the rookie to take lone roles as a ruck and KPF. But hey, Sammy only had a battle with cancer, not an ACL, so I guess that doesn't count huh?

No matter much you don't want it to be true, the Blues had the worst run with injury in the comp last year.

LOL. Lynch is better than Dawes and Waite averaged more goals than Cloke this season and just one less contested mark every second game; just needs to stay fit. And shit mate, that doesn't even take into account the promising Casboult and Mitchell waiting in the wings. Throw in our smalls brigade and it's all over red rover!

When your clubs in down with injuries, you either get on with it, or you give up

Carlton players gave up. Without Carazzo or Murphy there to do grunt work, it all seemed too hard, so they set it in neutral and rolled through the season. It was embarrassing to watch.

You learn a lot about players, and a team when things don't go your way... Carlton crumble and fold as they have for a generation now. Why try, when you can wait for it to all just magically happen for you next year?

The perfect reason to get Malthouse who has a record of getting the best out of players :thumbsu:

Sad Bagger fans in denial trying to justify picking up an old man and key position spuds :D

Err yeah o_O Justify what? I want Lynch about as much as I want Cloke ...

Doesn't change the fact he's still a better option than Dawes. Jebus, when the club was rumoured to be chasing Dawes last year I felt like putting a noose around my neck.

Sounds like a lovely story mate. The truth of the matter though is that the Blues injuries were substantial, to key players, at key times. In the end, we had guys like White, McInnes as Casboult as our KPP's and even they were getting injured. The squad was having a hard time getting to training even back in December and it didn't get any better during the season. A list still searching for depth just can't afford decimation like this. It's a fact of life.

I'm actually excited to see Murphy, Duigan and the real honest toilers under him. Their best will get better

The rest? The rest need to be cleaned out. All trolls aside, there is a really soft under belly at Carlton

That explains dropping 50-50 games

Port, Gold Coast? They were pathetic capitulations from players that do not put in when things aren't going their way

That not fairy tale stuff, that's reality
