Get 12+ games each out of Wells and Elliott then I think we can make the top 4 again, Moore needs also needs a injuru free year as well, like mentioned, Im treating these 3 as new recruits
No choice really, after last season.

With Sier's breakthrough year and Beams returning, it saddens me to think Rupert Wills may not ever make the AFL side again.

I hate to be ruthless but if Wills is not good enough to play afl for us, surely that means we are heading in the right direction.

No offence to Rupert.

I'm treating Moore and Elliots as new recruits. If those players can get their bodies right it will trump anything that Richmond brought into their best 22 during the trade period. Buckley asked for stability around the core group and it was great to see the club achieve that. We're building a tight group of players with finals experience to match. I expect them to go into 2019 hungry for the cup... Barring any devasting injuries to Grundy, we should replicate our 2011 H&S season, the Tigers 2018 H&S season or Hawthorns 2012 H&A plus Finals season. Hopefully we can finish it off when it counts.

We went 15-7 in 2018 with objectively the easiest draw in the entire AFL.

We could easily have less wins in 2019 yet play better

Fixture does make a difference, but Essendon, Adelaide, Port Adelaide and North are bottom eight teams, that are still half decent. What you really want is double matches against the bottom four

I also struggle to buy into the draw being a huge problem right now. So difficult to predict. Admittedly we didn't play a top 8 side twice other then Richmond, but the tiges only played one, and a lowly one in Geelong.

Yes but we still took it up to most teams, albeit fell short against the likes of Geelong, west coast and Richmond during the season. I think with more consistency, better injury management and games played together we will be one of the best teams in the comp. we have a game style that will suit the new rules changes and our coaches seem to have finally got it together. We performed better than expected with our list we should really peak around 2020.

I think we now have the best depth in the comp.

Not necessarily the best first 22, but definitely the best depth imho. Taken over from Richmond.

Not that it matters though, as Richmond showed this year.

I would argue about taking over from Richmond re depth. When you play the majority of 2 consecutive seasons without injuries the depth is untested.
