Wonder what's the transfer situation with Rashford and Casemiro atm?

Need to get rid of those two asap as it looks like they arent in Amorim's plans and so, we can't have them sitting on the sidelines doing nothing for the rest of the season with the salary they are on.

So what's the 'practical' answer here? We have a string of managers who are set on playing THEIR system, which is fine - but the appropriate players aren't there. So, spend/sell/spend repeat. With a lot of wasted money and time. And after it happening multiple times, we're in a really bad place - it can't get much worse.
I don't take much notice of other clubs, but is this how it always goes? Or, do some managers come in and devise a system using the majority of players already on the books?
If you're going to burn it to the ground, do it quickly.
Also, selling Garnacho seems insane to me.

I still have hope Rasmus will be a quality striker for us, he gets **** all service and still has a decent strike rate. Put him in a team that actually feeds the striker he scores 30 goals a year.

It’s because he’s pure profit. If we sell for £50m it’s pure profit and with PSR it means we can then get let’s say 3 players worth £50m each, totaling £150m and spread it out over 5 years, it’s a bit of a loophole and why other clubs tend to sell academy players.

Also, we are really struggling to move on players on huge coin, like in Antony’s case, we’re covering part of his wage while sending him on loan but getting him back in June, we can’t even sell him ffs. Rashford and Casemiro the other 2, both on huge money and will be hard to move.

Other top clubs basically have a playing style they want to play at all costs locked in and the director of football doesn't comprise on it and that's what helps them decide on the type of managers and players they want. Real Madrid is probably the only top club that is flexible on that but they usually have players that can fit into any playing style and as such, it's no surprise they are a GOAT club.

Since Glazers/Woodward/Arnold/Mortough couldn't implement such a concept, it's basically crucial for INEOS to do so from here onwards to avoid full resets again and again.

There was some vague talk about a game model when they first arrived so let's hope they enforce that, but early signs don't look good as they kept Ten Hag on after they apparently analysed options and also bought players for his system but then sacked him for Amorim who plays a totally different style and needs different type of players.

I haven't seen anyone credible talk about Garnacho going, where is this coming from?

I think we have a price we'd sell him for but no club will get to it.

It better not be 50 million pounds. Imagine the price we would have to pay if we were trying to buy him from say Napoli or something.

Will be 50-75m IMO. Italian clubs are stingy though.

The problem is nobody wants the deadwood. We can only sell who people are willing to buy.

I'd hate to see Nacho go, but if it allows us to bring in 2 players in Jan, then I'm all for it.

Steady on. They haven't won a major trophy in 30 years. We haven't reached that level of mediocrity yet. ;)
I think it is more becoming a selling club that we are like them. Selling our assets to buy cheaper players type of thing.

Was just tongue in cheek.

As for us becoming a selling club, that was bound to eventually happen once a full takeover didn't eventuate. Huge ongoing debt + years of financial mismanagement and onfield incompetence was always going to lead to this at some point.

Amorim must just be thinking "wtf". He said he wanted to see out the season with Sporting, win another title, then make the move, but INEOS said now or never. Now he's stuck in this shitshow and is getting no backing in January.

Could the post match dressing room shenanigans be a sign Amorim is breaking? From all reports, tables flipped, broken TV, tears, players just silent.

Sounds like something SAF would have done.

You had me excited for a moment that Amorim might have kicked a boot at someone’s head and we end up with the next Ronaldo as his replacement. Only problem with that is we don’t have anyone in the entire squad fit enough to polish David Beckham’s boots to make that a possibility. :(
