MRP / Trib. Mansell Suspended 3 Weeks - Suspension Upheld

They wrote that before the appeal was even heard. I knew it was over when that fat * checked the oven was on for his sausage rolls for morning tea.
All decisions are decided before it happens, the weeks given or if a player gets off. Cripps last year was already decided before the appeal was lodged, the appeal itself was for theatre and drama.

That stinks,CFL corruption.

Our defense was so poor that I'm starting to think we are willing participants in getting reamed by the AFL.
We Play the bad guys, everyone loves to hate
What is the cost in dollars for lodging an appeal given that it goes against the soft cap
Given Dimma has left and no doubt a settlement was negotiated where does that leave our soft cap for the remainder of the season?

Mansell needs to become a professor. If he’s smart enough to go from contesting the ball to
electing to bump in less than 0.1 seconds then he’s wasting his intelligence playing footy.

Why don’t the AFL just come out and tell us what we already know - they are making decisions outside the current laws of the game and outside of logic due to fear of future litigation due to concussion.

They treat us like absolute fools. Poor old Mansell is a fringe player and expendable so cops the full force of an illogical decision so they can use him as an example in future litigation of how strict they were on trying to prevent head knocks.

Bloody muppets.

The AFL needs to explain what the difference is between Mansells incident and Van rooyens incident - where he got off. Both were contested ball situations and both resulted in incidental (not intentional) contact to the head - both resulted in concussion.

Then theres de Goey where he launched with intent and gets the same suspension

I'm confused.

Broad 4 weeks and this one 3 weeks... Our boys always get hit with maximum penalties

We need new legal representatives, ours are cooked. Every other team in the league manages to get their players acquitted or down graded. Our players cop the maximum penalty.

What a joke, you look at the Tom Stewart hit on Prestia last year, he got 4 weeks !!! Broad got 4 and Mansell 3 !!! So the AFL are telling us those actions are all similar to jumping in mid air, lining a player up and knocking him out .... **** right off.

Then you have Carlton and Cripps last year, who left the ground contested the ball but got the Brisbane player high and he got off !!! What the **** are our legal team doing???

100% this is the elephant in the room. It's so obvious. No frills, low profile players like Mansell and Broad cop extreme penalties and players with "flair" like De Goey, Kosi Pickett and Tom Stewart are given light touch treatments. As for Cripps? Well we don't really want to stop a Brownlow medallist from winning his award, so conveniently let him off.

I agree with the AFL on this. Not often I say that but there you go. He should have tackled or assessed the situation better. He was never going to win that contest and didn’t show a reasonable duty of care.

This is mostly punishing clumsiness and poor reading of the situation. The idea that you can plough through anything in your way and use “I had my eyes on the ball” is dead as the dodo.

And I’m glad too because I played AFL in NSW for a few years and saw some horrific injuries. Mostly due to rugby players not having any 360 degree awareness and just chugging ahead in straight lines similar to this incident. It’s really dangerous and you need to be able to weigh up a situation better than Mansell did on this occasion.

Three weeks is too harsh though. 1-2 imo

What a dead set joke the appeal failed.
We can all see he had eyes for the ball until the last second. He did what we’ve always been taught to do and that is turn to protect yourself.

What I find funny is that this is worth 3 weeks, but the Dangerfield bump on Vlustuin in the 2020 GF is a-okay.

The AFL is like a bunch of people who don't know what they're doing, where they're going, or what they are going to do when they get there.
HAHAHAaaaa...but I tell you what for...they are going to $pend up BIG TIME whil$t doing it!
Drinks all around chasps!
