I got a problem. Not to do with mario kart. Control works fine, lights up and the buttons all work. However it doesnt turn the karts at all. Happens with other games too . How do I fix it?
Are you Wii Wheelin' or Nunchuckin'?

If it's the former, it certainly sounds like a problem with your accelerometers inside the Wiimote. In this case, you'd need to send it back to Ninty to be fixed.

If it's the latter, it may be that the analogue stick is off-centre when the game or track starts up (usually by playing with it subconsciously). This messes up the neutral-point of the nunchuck and would definitely affect your steering.

Considering it's sold out, we turned to ebay to buy it. Won a copy yesterday. Hoping to get it within the next couple of weeks. Can't wait!

its sold out everywhere in the world.

was reading a thread on neogaf about the experience of some US retailers..... they say that they get one or two copies every now and then and they get sold out nearly immediately.

all this because of a freaking plastic wheel

if demand holds firm till christmas (and assuming that Nintendo is stockpiling)....we could be seeing a ginormous sales monster.

Its not even that good.

yeah, its basically the same game....... but say what you want..... the levels are very well designed and the online play is awesome.

its just a fun game with universal appeal.

same deal with the DS version..... hundreds of hours of my life that I've wasted on that game :)

Why can't they make more if it's been sold out for so long?

that freaking plastic wheel..... either that or its for marketing purposes.... but it doesn't make sense imo to gimp the sales of your hot seller just to create hype >,>

as the saying goes

"Nintendo works in mysterious ways"

but seriously I think they just have too much on their plate.

The Wii is sold out..... Wiifit and balance board is sold out..... Mario Kart with plastic wheel is sold out.

They are a fiscally conservative company so its unlikely that they're going to gamble too much in that area with manufacturing not being their forte.

its still selling really well (was sold out for a long time too)...... just that MK is selling slightly better despite supply problems.

Just about all the Nintendo first party games are selling really well..... galaxy, MK and smash bros in particular are likely to sell over 10 million copies by the end of this generation.

Thought I'd bump this. Been playing a few hours most days for the past 3 weeks. Today whilst listening to Dokic win I finally unlocked every character (the last being Rosalina, needing 1 star in every single Grand Prix, including mirror mode)

I've got triple stars for 50cc, double stars for 100 and 150cc and 5 doubles, 3 single stars for Mirror mode. Using the Wii controller too.

Fairly stoked with that effort.

Rosalina was the last one? Are you sure you have them all? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Kart#Playable_characters

Oh ok, I just remember getting Rosalina before all the time trial ones.
Rosalina is also available if you ahve a saved game of Mario Galaxy on your WII. After you complete 50 races she comes up I think.

That's probably what happened.

Yes you're probably right, although I did try to get all stars in every grand prix, before touching the time trials as well.
