I remember Tony Jones filled in on MG in its first year. He was terrible. Abused callers all the time.

If he doesn't have a script, he really struggles. Those post match interviews he used to do for Nine's footy were very very ordinary.

Whoo hoo....only been listening to SEN from Trade Week on this year and he has driven me mental, to the point of listening to something else. Thank God he's gone. Hope they get someone 'un'annoying' to fill his little shoes.

I heard Bruce Eva on 3AW Sport's Today last week so i doubt he is available. However, i very much doubt that he would go back to SEN considering how they've treated him. I loved listening to him.

I'd just like to think that by keeping this thread active for a long as we did, it contributed to the decision of SEN to sack him. Vox Populi goes a long way these days, and I'd like to think other areas in the media take note that the ability to annoy is simply unacceptable to the public. We want to be kept informed, and how could that happened when Doran knew less than the rest of us?

Shebecchi (sp?) would be a good replacement. Knows a lot about the world game and motor racing, both of which qualify as 'other' sports at SEN.

Francis Leach would be ideal.

Mark Doran's problem - besides being opinionated, egotistical and having a lack of sporting knowledge - Is that his program was the most NON-SPORT show on the network and therefore didn't fit in with the other shos.

I have my doubts about Morning Glory - The program has too much waffling and pontificating about ' nothing ' and far little actual content.

Psuedo ads such as Sandy Roberts telling us what's on 7 news tonight. Why have extended 8 minute news breaks ever half hour up to 9am on a Sports station.
Then there's the traffic reports which are quite meaningless in most cases.

In nearly every ratings timeslot the actual presenter is on less that 50% of the time. They have a tendency to rush guests even when they are really interesting just to meet their ad quota.

It drives me nuts because I really do want the station to be successful. They are just shooting themselves in the foot. I am a very patient person but I'm sick of it.
If somebody could put a streamed Live AFL footy chat/news show on the internet each day I would watch that and forget SEN.

A few weeks ago on a Wednesday arvo i actually timed how long the presenters were on the air for after the soapbox concluded which was at 532pm, in the following 28 minutes Ox and Leach were on air for around 13 minutes!!
I don't know why Leigh Paaaaaaaatch even bothers going into the studio for the entertainment segment.

Good post. I agree with the amount of ads/news bulletins - its ridiculous. The problem is that the station is not very financially strong so they need all the ads they can get unfortunately - because it is a genre-specific station there is a limited scope to find advertisers compared to a general station.

But it does go over the top - i think somebody once timed the MG crew to see how much they were actually on-air during a shift and it was laughable.

Good Riddance to Doran. I would like to see Francis Leach get his time slot, a professional and educated radio presenter, journalist and a passionate sprots fan. If not Leach then Harf would be a good second choice.

No disrespect to Schebbecki (spelling?) but too much motor sprt to keep me tuned in.

Now we need to get rid of Watson, Maher, and Bartlett
