I posted the following in another thread. I intend to add to this thread longterm. I think supporters have been hoodwinked into not opposing these people because it would be seen as a show of disunity. I believe thats a mistake.
I wouldnt like to see Eddie go. He's dynamic .... but he needs to hear opposing views at board meetings.
the first thing that i would do would be to change the board
EDDIE MCGUIRE (PRESIDENT)
ALEX WAISLITZ (VICE-PRESIDENT)
ALISA CAMPLIN-WARNER
CHRISTINE HOLGATE
MARK KORDA
PAUL LEEDS
IAN MCMULLIN
ian mcmullin. most clubs have high profile ex players on the board and we have ian mcmullin. what is with that?
christine holgate. are you kidding me? is this a walking conflight of interest? we need women on the board but we can do better
mark korda. he's an accountant that barracks for collingwood. sounds like a good resume for a consultant to the club
paul leeds. he lists all the winners that he has got with his nags on his CV. evidently, he has a passion for thoroughbreds....good, go out for some family rides with the grandkids on weekends....
alisa camplin-warner. at least she is a sportswoman so that's a positive.
ALEX WAISLITZ (VICE-PRESIDENT) He or was a director for Visy companies....Pratt companies......hello hello....am i the only person in the world who knows about the connection between visy and carlton? I'm not saying that he's incompetent just because he's probably a carlton man but PLEASE...cant we do better? He's another financial accountant. How many do we need on the board????? just how many?????
let me print something from wiki about waislitz's company. take it for what it is
"In 2016 the Australian Taxation Office revealed that the company had paid no tax in 2013-14, despite revenue of $430 million."
That gives a fair reflection of his attitude to the community
he's the vice president......
it's like a conga line with eddie firmly at the front leading the show.....
and yet not one person challenges the board in elections......
