Pop Quiz:

What stat has Oleg Markov ahead of Scott Pendlebury?

Number of games played at Kardinia Park

Markov has played one game there.

Pendles has never played at Kardinia Park.

Updates made after the nailbiting win against the scum.

Key notes:

  • Moved into 5th of all time for games played after notching up the #SP400. Now chasing Kevin Bartlett
  • Moved into 10th of all time for kicks and now chasing a guy called John Murphy who I don't remember who played from 1967 to 1980 for Fitzroy, South Melbourne and North Melbourne
  • Dangerfield passed Sam Mitchell for clearances so Pendles now chasing Mitchell down in that category
  • Interestingly he got 2nd in the coaches votes... Is he a sneaky chance for 1 vote in the Brownlow for this one? Needs 6 votes to move into 4th

Go pies!

IMO what holds Pendles back in the Brownlow votes is his habit of arguing with the umpires, which he did do on Saturday.

Without derailing - Marc Murphy’s Dad and why he became eligible for FS with the Lions.

John Murphy was a very good footballer. Shame the same can’t be said for his son.

Tonight will mark game #303 as teammate with Steele.
If they can complete the further two remaining games this season, they'll finish the H&A season on 305 games as teammates and in equal second spot with Joel Selwood (retired) and Tom Hawkins (retiring). IF they play any finals, they'll be outright second.

Pendles is going on next season, but we don't know about Steele yet, do we? If he plays on next year as well, they'll easily take the record and pretty quickly. Record is 307 games Andrew McLeod and Tyson Edwards.

Updates made after our final game of the year.

Key updates below:

  • Moved into 2nd of all time for games played with teammate. Only 2 games needed in 2025 to become the GOAT in another category
  • Moved into 4th of all time for games played. Burgoyne 4 games away but Tuck is 23 away so would need to be an optimist to think he can move into 2nd. Would need one more season for the GOAT
Some 2025 notes:

  • As mentioned above, just needs two games to be the GOAT in Games played with teammate
  • Would need 23 games to move into 2nd of all time for Games played so likely to be in 3rd factoring in a couple of rests/minor injuries
  • Currently in 2nd for Goal Assists. If he plays 20 games in 2025 at his current average he would fall short of Eddie Betts by a few. Will be one to watch
  • Currently in 2nd for Contested Possessions. Will stay in 2nd unless Dangerfield retires unexpectedly or gets injured early in the season
  • Currently in 5th for Clearances. If he plays 20 games in 2025 at his current average he would end up in 1st BUT Dangerfield is ahead of him so would likely be in 2nd unless Dangerfield retires unexpectedly or gets injured early in the season
  • Best case scenario for Total Brownlow Votes is 4th place. Needs 6 this year and next to pass Sam Mitchell (3rd place is 25 votes away which might be a bit of a stretch!)
  • Can move into 5th place for Most wins with 8 wins in 2025. A stretch could be 17 wins to move into 3rd
  • Needs a couple of finals next year to move into 4th for Most finals played
  • Unlikely to move above 5th in Inside 50s unless Boak retires
  • This time next year he will be in 9th for longest careers
  • If he plays 20 games in 2025 with his current average he will move into 9th for Kicks
  • This time next year he will be 15th for Age
Will make some minor updates after the season ends to pick up Boak and Dangerfield's stats as well as the 2 or 3 brownlow votes Pendles might get.

Bring on 2025 and hopefully another great year from the great man. Will he sneak another top 5 in the Copeland?

Awesome thread. Thank you for the effort.

Pop Quiz:

Who has played more games of senior footy?

(A) Jack Crisp

… or …

(B) Scott Pendlebury when he was Jack Crisp’s current age?

Answer appears to be (B) Scott Pendlebury

Crisp is currently 30 years old (turning 31 in the off season) and has played 249 games

Scott Pendlebury is currently 36, meaning he was 30 post 2018 off season (turning 31 in the post 2018 off season). At that stage Scott had played 277 games
