AFLW 2024 - Round 6 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I think if you get the runs in 25 overs or roll them for half your score it's fair enough to get 6 points. The double BP rules are dumb.
Seems like the bulk of this QLD team is scarred from their BBL choke
Gonna be an interesting last round for sure if SA lose to WA.
If Tassie win they'll also be in the conversation.Does it matter that much? Even if SA win tomorrow Vic probably overtake them with a win on Sunday week. BP win tomorrow probably only thing that would impact that.
I assume we're ruling out Daniel Hughes because of his age? He's probably the best opener in List A cricket post Warner/Finch in Australia IMO. If he's in your best 11, what does it matter if he's a specialist in one form?
There was only 4 in this QLD team that played in the BBL final (Heazlett, Bryant, Bazley, Peirson). The double BP rules are dumb.

Yeah. If he were late 20's it's be differentI assume we're ruling out Daniel Hughes because of his age?
Brisbane losing to the top side away is hardly what I'd consider a choke as well. There was only 4 in this QLD team that played in the BBL final (Heazlett, Bryant, Bazley, Peirson).
From the position they were in, it was absolutely a choke.Brisbane losing to the top side away is hardly what I'd consider a choke as well.
Yeah na.From the position they were in, it was absolutely a choke.
Nobody is denying that. However Brisbane had two new bats with 3.1 overs left and over 12 an over needed.Yeah na.
The Scorchers best side all year.
12 an over isn't that hard a get, regardless of the batsman being new at the crease.Nobody is denying that. However Brisbane had two new bats with 3.1 overs left and over 12 an over needed.
Choking isn't just being the best team all year and losing the final. It can be being in the best position in a game for most of the day and losing it at the end. Which is what happened to Brisbane.
They should have won that game. The Scorchers (and , Connolly in particular) did very well but Brisbane should have won.12 an over isn't that hard a get, regardless of the batsman being new at the crease.
They were batsmen as well, not tailenders.
Granted they were in a good position, but not one where they couldn't/shouldn't lose.
Was just a great game of cricket.
IMO, a choke is the final when the Stars lost to the Renegades. They should have won that game. The Scorchers (and , Connolly in particular) did very well but Brisbane should have won.
Yes, that is also an example of a team choking.IMO, a choke is the final when the Stars lost to the Renegades.
The game ebbed and flowed and the Scorchers were a bit better when it counted.
Brisbane had the upper hand when Turner was run out, but the Scorchers bat deep.
Let's agree to disagree on this one.
Choking isn't losing when having the upper hand.Yes, that is also an example of a team choking.
I do,rather get rid of that T20 crap or at least cut it back. How much longer does this comp have left before it dies?
No one gives cares.
