The Avoca Football & Netball club have been greatly saddened and truly shattered, by the tragic loss of one of our most respected, and highly regarded footballers in Jason Fletcher.

Jason was not only highly regarded for his football and sporting ability, but also for his off field personality, where it is doubtful that you would find a more sincere and caring young man.

Fletch you will be truly missed!

Brook seem to be building nicely at the minute - Will the arrival of Ahmat, Sanders, Dingo etc offset the losses to Maryborough and improve them?

What is going on at Dunolly? Did they exhaust the cheque book in trying to win with the side last season, or does everyone have legit reasons for leaving?

Is it looking like a 3 horse race between Avoca, Newstead and Carisbrook leading in to 2010?

Your kidding if Trentham are going to be wooden spooners - reruited at least 10 new players. New signing this week full forward Scott Clayton ex Macedon , turned downed bigger money at Riddell for Trentham according to sources in RDFL. Could be a potential goal kicking winner
 
I highly doubt Talbot will make the 5. A few key losses at this stage and retirements. Have recruited a couple but not sure they will cover the losses and they werent good enough to make it last year. Will turn to youth and will be a development year IMO.

Its Scott Carter from Macedon and he will be a goal kicking winner. Watched him at Macedon last year and can kick them from anywhere and tough as nails

You are kidding yourself maineman... What is it that is going to see the Premiers from last year, who have lost 2 players from the grand final winning side slide so far that they will miss the 5?

And more to the point, what is it that is going to see a side that won 1 or 2 games last year and could not get within 100 points of the top 5-6 sides in Creek make the 5??

I guess time will tell on Newstead and as for Creek, if you are not optimistic at this time of year then you are in for a long year!

I do think they will improve a lot though.

I do agree with you there mate, it would be pretty boring on the old forum if we all agreed on everything...

I am interested to hear why you think Newstead will slide so far that they will miss the top 5? Reasons??

How are your boys going to go this weekend v Maldon, got a full side to pick from?
