That time of the week again; A big weekend of footy coming up!!
Dunolly V Newstead - Should be a ripper of a game this Friday night in front of another big crowd hopefully (everyone get along for a look). Not too sure how the timing of the night match during the week will effect either side with guys travelling etc but hopefully its minimal. Newstead started really slowly against a physical Maldon side last weekend before the class of Ramsay and Ford took control. With Dunolly's player losses it will be pretty different side to that which played in the grand final but with Newstead still missing a few should be pretty even. Newstead to come home in the last by 20
Avoca v Rovers - Avoca will be hoping to start the season well and kill off another disappointing September. Have recruited well and lost basically noone so should be regarded as the team to beat for this years flag. Rovers will be hoping Sellars can lift his side this year, and with a few notable losses during the summer they will need him to. Avoca by 40
Trentham V Carisbrook - Not good signs for the saints last week loosing to Creek. A lot of buzz over the summer with some 30 odd recruits bolstering stocks but they will need to find a way to gell pretty quickly. Brook have lost some really good players but have also plucked Ahmatt from Dunolly and Dingo who by all reports is a gun. Expect them to win comfortably this weekend and really threaten to finish top 3
Harcourt v Creek - Creek would have been wrapt with the win on the weekend. The pre season recruiting didn't go exactly to plan but the experience of Peake will no doubt help out the younger Creek onballers. Harcourt have lost a lot of solid senior players over summer, names like McMurtrie, J Smith, D Smith, and the Karmichaels will leave them pretty light on. The Lions should get up, but it may be closer than they'd like.
