Were there many there?? I heard Dunolly went ok but I'm sorry to disagree..... 12 goals is not a good competitive game! Good on Dunolly for organising it and they are definately on the improve. I just think it would have been good for the league to have some forethought and schedule perhaps Brook v Maldon or Talbot v Avoca for Anzac Day.

Good luck to everyone at the footy today!

Quite Disappointing to see the lack of people attend what should of been a well attended game, which is what it was intended for, thats why Dunolly took the initiative to organise it. Wasnt as close as should of been, Dunollys last quarter seen the ball down there end nearly the whole time with alot of scoring shots but no player could kick through the goals to capatalise there efforts. They are defiently on the improve with a few changes around the club.

What are everyones thoughts on why there wasnt many people attend???
I would say most people wouldnt be doing much when the footy was on so the crowd should have been alot bigger.

The scoreboard did not tell the story at all and in that case Rich I would have to say that Talbot v Avoca or Brook v Maldon wouldn't have been much better competitive wise with Avoca winning by a fair margin and Brook giving Maldon a footy lesson with Maldon only managing 4 goals. Either way its great to see a club such as Dunolly get a marquee game rather than having some of the more dominent clubs. Anyway, it must have been a rippa of a game between Harcourt and Trentham, the only close one of the weekend! Any news from the game?

heard luke treacy has been playing with a broken foot since thurs training, dead set that kid must have some go in him............... not to mention the best looking bloke in the league, if i was to bend any bloke over a table it would be him:eek:

geez will you blokes stop filling this thread up with tripe. Some of us have intelligent things to say so take your love chats elsewhere

Was reading one of your past posts Alfie,Sounds like very good hard thought out advice to me,Would you mind sharing with us which club you are involved with, just to warn your team mates of your future intentions. Not sure about you but doesn't sound like the norm to me.(bending blokes over the table that is) IMO.

I totally agree. Why keep giving the top clubs all the breaks? Give some of the lower end clubs a chance to raise some money.

On another note. Does anyone honestly think Brook can be stopped this year? Lessons have been handed to everyone they have faced so far.

i think avoca will be the only club maybe, and like we know, despite the results, harcourt shouldn't be counted out. but yeah, avoca will go close i think, but the way brook are playing at the moment, who knows?

Very very early call there e2g...I would wait until sunday's game b4 talking about that sort of stuff. Good on Dunolly for organising friday night's game. Standard was great but compared to the Dunolly of old they put up a great performance.

Word is Luke Treacy has Rooster scouts looking at him in the next couple of weeks!!! the lad has skill to burn aswell as a well chizeled frame

Question??? Harcourt don't seem to have lost too many players but the results so far looks like they have slipped a bit. I realise Trentham have really improved this year and must have taken it right up to them on the weekend but was just wondering if anyone had more of an insight into Harcourt. The Lions are going for 3 in a row and so far there title defence looks a bit shaky.

Fair call there crank. Results to date would indicate Harcourt have slipped a bit. You can't really discount the Lions though, they were slow starters last year and went on to win the flag comprehensively.

I think over the next month or so we will see where they are really at.

They don't have it in the bag but the ticks are there for quality players and early form. Avoca and Harcourt should be thereabouts too.

The bottom teams seem a little more proactive this year and are having a dip. Hopefully the 30 goal mark doesn't get broken too many times this year.

RICH ... everythink hunky-dory at Talbot ?
Big discrepancy in Sat. score, but I reckon you'll say Talbot was playing one of 2008's Top Three.
Still, teams have to beat those above them at some stage to give credibility to spectators (and casual observers) that they have the goods.

apparently the score line did not reflect the effort by talbot...we did play most of the game undermaned..avoca are a well polished unit. In regards to harcourt they may not be showing there form of the previous seasons but they are still 4-0 and doing enough to win games which is all they have to do at this stage. i suppose talbot will get a good look of where there at this week.

We were beaten by the better side Jock. I think the scoreline is just about right, we are 6 goals behind Avoca at this stage of the year. Certainly not panicing though. Losing Smith in the first 10 minutes and Nath Bond did not help but that's footy.

We prob had our chances to win the game. Should have been up at halftime but had someone sent off which made it difficult. Hopefully we can bounce back this week against Harcourt.

Avoca looked to have a couple of reserves boys in so they might have been missing a couple as well.

Jock Brook v Avoca this Sunday who's your tip? Also is the game to be broadcast on fresh fm?

What happened to Smith and Bond Kingrich?

Yeah Gibbo has done his knee and will need another reco. Unfortunate for the big fella.

Geee thats bad news! I hope you Talbot boys get around him cos he would have to be devistated at the moment. Is he going to have a role with coaching out there now? With the coach being a playing coach, too smart of a footy brain to be left drinking cans on the side line IMO

I assume they will let things settle down before any of those types of decisions are made.
