Maldon were insipid on Sat and would have to improve greatly to beat any of the other final sides at the moment. They looked overawed by the occasion and very slow. Also suffering from injuries with Brown struggling and a season ending injury to young Hayden Kelly affecting their on ballers. Dont get too carried away at this stage as i think Carisbrook will show up a pace deficency in Harcourt this week and Avoca may just out run Maldon.

Lachie Brown's AC injury may prove very costly to Maldon. Hopefully he can get out there this weekend and make an impact because he is very important around the stoppages. I dont think the conditions suited Maldon and I think on a dry daythey will go a lot better.

Why did Pilgrim sit for a lot of the day on Sunday?

Maldon has played twice in the wet and been beaten easily both times so it will be vital to have a dry day for them, The dons will be hoping to get lee stewart back if brown is unable to play

Not taking anything away from Grant, but he had some help from Bond's team mates who's inaccurate disposals made it very hard for the talbot spearhead. Same thing happended in the Talbot - Dunolly game the week before.

how many games can a can a person play in the seniors until they cant be dropped back into the 2s?

And just on the weekend matches i noticed in all the games (2s and 1s) that the umpires are being alot stricter in there calls. There were alot of 50's given away.

I think 9 and your knackered unless your ones play on the same day.

Correct Crank! It went up from 8 to 9 this year due to the longer season. Under 17 players can play any grade no matter how many games they have played.

Umpiring is ridiculously inconsistent. Talbot gave away 4 goals from 50 metre penalties. We should have known better because this particular umpire is always like this but the umpires need to ensure its consistent across the board. 2 of the 4 50m penalties were very soft indeed considering what some are left to get away with.

Care to elaborate on this KR?

Not really Iron Glove. This particular umpire is very touchy and enjoys the attention of umpiring. Players are told they are allowed to ask the question before the game and this umpire will often ping players for it just because he feels like it. I just get frustrated at the inconsistency of it all particularly from this umpire. 50m penalties are a very harsh penalty and should be reserved for serious physical incidents or disrespect towards an umpire. Football is a frustrating game and the officials need to understand that.

Is it Me?

Harcourt's tackling and finals pressure to get them over Brook by 3pts.
Coghlan and Lakey to fire. Avoca by 10pts.

I hear on the grapevine this afternoon that Carisbrook will be hosting the Channel 9 Footy Show next Thursday night with Billy Brownless and Brian Taylor coming up to do the wheel. Would be a first for the area you would think. I wonder how you go about organising that for your club? Anyone else heard the this rumour?

I unfortunately couoldn't make it to today's game between Brook & Harcourt. Looks like it was close throughout. Hoping for one of those magnificent match reports from big footy's Clark Kent.
How did the match pan out Bluey?
