mmmm, some interesting developments while i been away, in regards to the grounds, alot of ppl have been complaining about hedges oval , but after playing cricket there on weekend its fine it has a good coverage of grass, and its green, only thing wrong with it is it might be alittle hard, but who cares, it def playable.

i wonder how many big deals will come through in the next month????

Zachariah and K. Rich --- be very innarested to read early next week about the Talbot ground report. Also to hear how the Newstead oval and maybe the Brook surface are scrubbing up.
Adam Cole is the new coach at Trentham I've been told. What's his history, boys ?? A Ballarat or Ballarat district fella ??

not sure where his from, or what he is like as a player, but i was told that he was only a reserves player for whichever club he came from......may be wrong though.

No it is not. It was pushed back to May at a league meeting the other night. Only 2 grounds came up to par according to a very reliable source.

Can anyone confirm this is the Adam Cole who used to play in the Hampden League? Terang/Mortlake I think it would of been?

If it is, his a very handy player and also a great guy on the piss..

It has not been pushed back to May as yet. It will be reassessed in 2 weeks.

The following was the ground reports:

Jubilee - Passed. C/Creek - Failed but was very close. Newstead - Failed. Maldon - Failed but only because they didn't have carpet on their pitch otherwise their ground is lush. Harcourt - Failed. Hedges - Failed. Avoca - Passed. Carisbrook - Passed. Talbot - Failed. Trentham - Passed. Dunolly - Failed.

That came from someone who attended the meeting so is pretty reliable. So thats 5 grounds that are currently available plus Princes Park. Its not too bad.

The Brooks surface is great. Newstead's is no good but they are flooding it this weekend so I'm told. Talbot's has a coverage of grass that is not green and its very hard.

Trentham have always been a good bunch of blokes to have a beer with so hopefully it won't change if thats the case

SUTHERLAND, Thomas Colac & District FNL > Otway Districts2003 > PlayerTalbot

Fairly handy recruit there fellas. Haven't thought Talbot would be that great of a contender. However, with a bench, wills, smith, sutherland forward line I think Talbot will be up there. They play their home ground very well and won't lose many there.

Sutherland would be on a fair packet tho Rich?
Bit more than a pie and a coke?;)

yeah he will be a very handy assett to the club no doubt, good sized player who could player key position anywhere on ground, extremely strong and will be tough to man up on.......there is a good feeling around club and one thing that talbot has always done is provide a contest, there is no such thing as an easy game against talbot.

Tommy has a medallion club membership for the canteen for the entire season which entitles him to as many pies as he wishes! Which will be a few to fill his large frame!

Have you ever seen him play Crank?

Seen a few games of him and his brother. Is Talbot a chance of getting Stewie as well? Talbot spending up to have a fair old tilt aye?

I wouldn't say that Crank but whatever you think.

Main reason he is I believe is because he is sick of travelling home and has a few mates at Talbot that he went to uni with.

It was a question not a statement no need to get offended by it.

All I'm saying is Talbot is no different to any other club in that they buy a few recruits that complement their locals.

There's nothing wrong with paying players its just you fellas act like a pie and a coke is your entire incentive scheme.

I'd love you to show me where I or others have ever said that Crank. Only thing I have ever said is that yes we do pay some players but not as many as others. Incentive scheme has never been mentioned. You seem to be drawing your own conclusions here! ;) You certainly didn't offend me!

I also highly doubt you have ever seen Tommy play Crank! What would you be doing down near Colac on a Saturday? :)

whats to say he hasnt floated through the area rich, and is colac the only place the big fella has ever laced up the boots, i doubt that! looks to me as if your the one drawing your own conclusions here my friend ;)
 
the banter footy creates isnt terrific, everywhere you go its there..but on a more serious note putting aside the shananigans does this quality signing give this talbot side a red hot crack at september? where did they finish last year? will there be any bendigo and ballarat league players heading out towards your league with the grounds situation?

talbot finished couples of games outside 5 last year footy head, have had a couple of injury riddles seasons after there long term stink in september during the glory years. its hard to say were talbot will finish this year but top 3 is where we are aiming,there is a couple of new faces at talbot which have brought a breath of fresh air to the club and there is definatley that feeling of success round the club at the moment which is all you can ask for.

not sure bout ballarat bendigo recruits coming into our league, but if our season starts late , they will not be given that opportunity anyway.
