Good point.
Then I guess he is going to have to figure out a way to minimise that disadvantage.
It does make it hard for him as with the high centre of gravity it is very important that he picks up the line of the ball early so he can protect the drop zone. If he lowers his body height they won’t be able to get under him and move him. So it’s very important he protects the drop zone so he can extend into it at the last moment

I vote we get some sports science guys to work out if they can disprove gravity.

Should help.

We're cashed up. Surely if we are going to be serious as a club we can disprove the laws of physics.
It's not as if we are trying to turn pepsi into coke or something ridiculously impossible like that.
Thought we reportedly had Sam Murray working on the latter.

... too soon? :p

He's physically to weak to play the role we need from him.
He needs heavy gym work so experienced defenders can't push him under the ball or move him completely off his line.

He also needs to put the knee up and flatten anyone who sits infront of him.

Woulda had him do that to McGovern in the first.. knee in the head.

Not Coxys best game but he

a) still gives us structure which you cannot discount
b) played as a lone target against an absolute superstar and beast of a man (McGovern) and often attracted 2-3 at the contest
c) brought a lot of ball to ground after quarter time which I don't feel we adequately locked into our forward line
d) allows us to play a very mobile forward line with a lot of speed.
e) is a key part of our system and straightens our mids up.

It would be a catastrophe if we played Reid or Moore as a sole target. At best one of these comes in as support, not as a replacement.

My Uber driver asked me last night if I had been drinking. I told him to mind his own business.
Too harsh?
Not really.

Unless you were calling him sweety then too harsh

:D

First big final game.
Has to be expected, especially away from home.
Will be much better for the experience when he is back on his beloved MCG.
Won't have a game like that again.

Cox with 5 disposals, 2 marks, 0 tackles and 1 hit out had an absolute shocker.

No point trying to sugar coat it.

Hell, even on debut hard to imagine McLarty would have been any worse than Cox was last night.

Cox has improved himself in some areas this year but this hasn't been reflected in terms of his individual scoreboard impact and when your main opposition has the likes of a Riewoldt or Kennedy to anchor their forward line it remains a distinct advantage they have over us.

To all the Mason haters. He still made us better up forward. Plus he has the character to work on his deficiencies. Disturbed by the fickle nature of some of our posters.

It's not "hating" he simply needs to do better, be hungrier and angrier at the contest, position himself better, hit the gym over summer to get his strength in line with genuine KPP to stop them using him as a person puppet.

He had a few opportunities to fairly run through some WC players who chopped off his leads but instead pulled up to avoid contact, you cant be that nice or they will just continue to do it every game as there are no repercussions only upside.

Cox has a lot of attributes that could make him a genuine weapon but unless he starts to use them he is a massive liability.
Due to what happens when the ball turns over in his area when it comes down (this is also partly on the lack of crumbing types at his feet) generally he is out of the contest and they rebound off him or they just simply out mark him by shifting him under the ball.

Some of the incoming kicks did him little favours but really he just needs to compete better.

They wouldn't be the "sole" target with Mihocek and Degoey down there, further to that they couldnt and wouldn't do worse then mason game last night (so long as fit and healthy.
